Modded Nintendo Switch OLED Black Screen Repair. The Result is Purple.

Purple screen on a modded Oled is almost certainly the CMD resistor. The value should be 4.7k. It looks like they used 30awg which is way too thick, likely broke the resistor terminal. swap those wires for 36awg. the clk via under the heatspreader is also very brittle and the most difficult point. If they used 30awg there it's likely been ripped.

The yellow wire is connected to CLK point of the nand(A point in the mod chip). The resister is blown/broken and causing the pink/purple screen. I mod and repair failed modded switches all the time. It is a 4.7k 201 smd resistor. Replace that and it should work depending on how bad the rest of the install is…. Idk who modded that but they shouldn’t be modding switches.

Minor gripe but pink and purple are too close in colour, and why does one colour represent several possible errors? Just blink the screen on and off in a pattern like BIOS beeps.

the error lights from those HWFLY chips are really stupid too. They flash like 20 different colors in a few seconds. The Picofly long pulse and short pulse error codes are way easier to understand. Majority of the tile I see HWFLY error codes they aren't even listed on that image. They're just bad. Instinct chips are even worse. When you have an error the LED just looks like an RGB light going crazy lmfao.

It will create shadows which will also hide some details you need to see. It's for situational use.

On many occasions we need to see the flux, and when we clean it up make sure it’s all gone. The anti-glare takes away this ability.

@ 0:41 that wire's insulation has been cut back too much. Is it possible that when installed it's making contact with that otherpad? Put a piece of electrical tape between that bare wire and the board. See if that solves it.

Looks close but it's probably fine. They didn't cut the wires back too far, they applied too much heat and melted the wire sheath. Most likely the problem is with some resistors as a few other people speculated. Common problem when a gorilla with a soldering iron tries to chip a console

when the screen is purple like that it means the resistor value its wrong take a look on top of the gpu there should be 2 resistors the important one should measure 10k is the one that should have solder on it due to the modding i know this due to experience

I recently bought an optical microscope like this and I can tell you that the more you zoom the focal plane becomes thinner. And it is all manual focus. I can zoom on the top of an SMT capacitor and the traces that go to the capacitor become blurry in 45x zoom.

Sources? The mod was fine, it was the connector, now he has some sort of picture & sure the owner knows how to get into CFW boot and sort everything from there. The reason is a modded switch is dope and a stock one is meh.

@@miker13 emmc you have to create when you mod your switch whether it is softmod or soldered chip. It's a clone of your nand. You use this emmc partition for mods and not the sys nand or you will get banned. The emmc runs of your sd card not the nand
