Just found one for almost free, and I am definitely going to install custom firmware on it. I already have five softmodded Wii's, three original white ones, one of the original black model, and one black without the Gamecube ports. I really love the design of the Wii mini, it looks like a cross between a Gamecube and a Famicom. I wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to actually be an earlier design for the Nintendo Revolution that Nintendo dropped, before showing us all the model that eventually made it to production.

They really are expensive for what they are. I’ve been hearing they go for more than the regular Wii now does. It must be just because there were fewer produced, and you know how the collectors have to collect everything 😁

Yeah, there’s absolutely no logical reason to do this other than it’s freaking cool. Not to be dramatic, but we didn’t need to put a man on the moon either. We do these things not because they’re easy but because they’re hard and because we can. It’s definitely a unique item. You’re absolutely correct though that 99.999% of people really don’t need to pursue a project like this. I think somebody did come up with a GameCube controller adapter for this.

Yeah nothing unique in regard to the hacking, it’s just reimplementing things that were basic features. The top loading aspect of the Wii mini to me is one of the best things about it, which is just my personal preference more than anything else.

The short answer is you can’t. The long answer is I would recommend buying a Wii mini as cheap as you can, buy the parts from webhdx ‘s website, which is in the description of my video and then contact ModzvilleUSA ( his info is in the video description) and see if he can do it for you , or find somebody who knows how to do it, it requires a very specific skill set , I’d recommend not leaving it up to somebody who doesn’t have a lot of experience soldering. As far as I know, I’ve never seen one sold before anywhere. But if you do happen to see one up for sale, prepare to get hosed, there’s no way someone’s going to sell that cheap.
