Sorry to double dip, but the takeaway I got from this video is after you own a HAWK, you'll know how to work on a bike because EVERY part needs attention. It's a GREAT lesson actually, and I'd imagine a PERFECT blank canvas for some father / son time.

aha yes its my first bike worked on it alot spent time in garage with dad very fun, hes never used a chinese bike but he was suprised how good it was just after a carb upgrade and some simple stuff like oil change and whatnot, cleaned stuff up overall. After that, its super fun to use, took it offroading. definitly worth it, got it on fb marketplace for 600$ with some good negotiating skills, spent around 150$ fixing it up, and now its great.

2018 hawk btw, and the only reason somebody didint get it before me is because the guy took some horrible pictures as it was in his shed, if he had better angles it def wouldve sold quicker. It was great condition for cheap.

I noticed you installed the exhaust pipe in correct it needed to go in the inside of the frame instead of the outside of the frame. Did you order the correct exhaust kit for the Hawk 250? 🤔 Also on the Nibbi carburetor you may need to change the jets but first before doing that adjust the air mixture screw first throttle the engine up then start adjusting the air mixture screw until you hear it smooth out with maximum power you will hear 👂 it come a live!! Also on the air box even if you open it up it’s still not enough air flow to the Nibbi carburetor for maximum power you need to run the Nibbi cold air cleaner for maximum air flow and power! Great video enjoyed it!! Also you have a kick start if you’re battery 🪫 goes dead ☠️ 🤔👍😎🤘

Everything is good in it now and as for the kick start it's never worked once for some reason so I just don't use it, has worked great on past bikes 🤷♂️

Ive owned a dlx hawk for 4 years, 16000, miles, it's been good for the price, it still runs just like new. Sometimes shifting from 1 or 2nd to neutral, was hard, I installed, brand new clutch disks and heavy duty clutch springs, its shifting much better from 1st and 2nd to neutral, also, it feels quicker, I think the stronger clutch springs made a difference. But overall for the price it was worth it. I want the lifa. KPx, really bad, 6 speeds actual 249cc., counterbalanced, it's a from $2800, to $3300.00

Built my coolster 125cc semi automatic pit bike it's working great what a bike for 600$ total but my son's 2 stroke 50cc is giving me he'll it keeps dying dies when throttled and eventually won't start its always the same song and dance. I've replaced the whole engine carb and transmission I'm starting to think it's the kill switch I'm so angry I don't know what to do
@dauntlessdsm Жыл бұрын
Sounds like it's choking itself, did you try checking the choke and the cable?
@plumbherhub1664 Жыл бұрын
@dauntlessdsm yea cable pulled the throttle and choke is clean and no matter the position or even the air filter removed while using starting fluid I mean it could be the jetter flooding it but I'm not sure. The engine gets real hot just pull starting I think it's being shut down gunna replace killswitch line

Why did you change the carb ? Was it malfunctioning or was it only for power increase ?

The stock ones are restrictive, changing it out allows for a better flow and slight increase to power 👍

A lot these mods that people are doing are useless. My stock carburetor does great. I’ve never had an issue with it. And I have about 4500 miles on mine. All I’ve had to do to. It is a regulator rectifier and I replaced the front rim on it today cause it warped.

Just because you don't have enough sense to understand them doesn't make them useless. Do some more research and try to use some common sense this time

@@josheakins5137 I’ve worked in maintenance for a lot of years and I’ve rode motorcycles all my life. I’m 66 years old and I think I understand the situation. An old maintenance term you might not know or understand is “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.“ I have ridden my hawk 250 5000 miles without all these modifications, that tends to make me believe it’s unnecessary. i’d say spending money on things that are unnecessary. It’s pretty stupid myself.

Lol KLR 650 is way heavier. If you are riding in the woods and a little street to get there this is a perfect bike.
@brianmiller6467 Жыл бұрын
Heavier and much more capable. 56lbs heavier isn't alot. And the amount of power comparatively speaking completely destroys the chonda, used for less money. And see of the chonda will handle the ga traverse or any bdr. If you want to dilly dally around in the dirt behind your house buy any of the Amazon motorcycles. Otherwise spend the same money on a good used Japanese bike and smile for years to come.
