Some Mistakes made(imo) 1:Didn't desolder the wire jus straight up cut it 2:Bought a entirely new controller instead of just a board which would cost the customer more for no reason 3:Like others said change the patientometer (might have spelled that wrong) 4:No flux used whatsoever 5:You put a green board in 😭 Edit: my whole point was that there are some stuff that he probably could have done different while not entirely necessary it would probably give the customer more trust in the repair man for future repairs

The potentiometer is what causes the stick drift to move by itself as the motherboard itself has no problem

Think about it. Limited edition controller = limited edition motherboard. He wanted to take the board so to justify taking it he says it is broken and needs to be replaced. Replaces it with a shitty basic one, sends it back. The customer wouldn't know the difference because he obviously isn't going to take it apart and look at it and if the joystick doesn't drift it's "good as new" allegedly when really he got robbed/scammed.

I got one from a swap meet for $5 not too long ago. Not sure what game it's from, dark green with some silver, textured/ cross hatched sections on either side. The rubber is a game changer. The series S controller has been collecting dust every since.

How do you take any pride in that kind of work and post the video. Would have taken no time at all to solder those rumbles properly. Cleaning and removal of the old wire left there with the insulation before you soldered as well. This kind of workmanship keeps me employed. Keep it up

It’s always so satisfying when you can get a broken one working again. I put my elite 2 at the end of the bed went to the bathroom and my wife flung it off trying to cover up. I ended up having to replace the whole right side bumper it would click but wasn’t responsive at all. Luckily had an Xbox one controller around to solder a new one on.

If you were going to buy a new controller to pull stuff out of, why not just swap the cosmetic parts over to the new controller? That way it would be like a new controller that looks the same and would have likely taken dramatically less effort

Didn’t have to all that could had just replaced the joystick. But if you need to fix a controller and don’t want to cut wires you can change the top and bottom boards with other controllers which is what I do with my controller from 2014
