Heath, Glad to see you are back at it. Your mod to the firewall looks factory & makes for a nice flat panel & clean look. Thanks for sharing your progress. Rick

Glad to see your back working on the A Build,,,, totally understand about the being busy part,,, got more hours of daylight now to work and I still seam to run out of time, both on things that I want to do and family time... Turned out looking good and you should have plenty of room between it and the distributor/ engine.... Be looking for your next video my friend...

Yes everything clears now so I can move on to putting in some patch panels and then floor. Its hard to balance family time work and building hotrods and trying to put out videos but its worth it. Take care and as always thanks for watching!

Excellent job on the firewall, Heath! Thanks for sharing! That subtle modification on the bottom corners of the firewall will not even be noticed by the vast majority of people, but those who do notice are gonna have some questions for you! Hahahaha! Enjoy! Be safe! Bro Harry

I don’t know anything about building a hot rod but I’ve seen guys cut their firewall out and put it back in reversed . It sits back that way but you probably already know that.have a good day

Hi. I have been watching you on KZbin, but on the TV. You installed your headlights .I like it. My dream is someday sell the 54 Ol' Beater, and get a Model A. I'm so glad to hear that you are not chopping the roof. So glad !!!!! You are building it the way I would love to do one.
@fullmoonhotrods2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jaun ! No chop for this Model A . I want plenty of head room and leg room and now days you hardly ever see one that's not chopped.They really look good chopped but I just want a little more room in the car. Thanks for watching! Take it easy!

It did what you were after! I would have bent the firewall 90° under the horizontal bead forming a flange (probably formed the center boss underside into the missing bead). Then size the insert opening width and notching the vertical ribbing away. I would have salvaged another firewall for the ribbing to produce vertical patch panels. The inside flat surfaces would need angled tangent to the rib radius to form a flange. The horizontal ribs would fill the notchings while those vertical ribs would start the indentation for your recessed angled walls. If the notches got into the firewall perimeter radius shorten the vertical ribbing.
@fullmoonhotrods Жыл бұрын
That would have worked to. That’s why I love Hot Rods there is so many different ways to change things around on them to make them your own. Thanks for watching and commenting! Take Care!

If you drilled out the spot welds around the firewall then reverse it you pick up maybe 3 inches only welding of the 2 supports for radiator rods..you keep all the factory embosses.
@fullmoonhotrods2 жыл бұрын
I have seen them reversed like that they look good too. Thanks for watching! Take it easy!

Question: would a small block with a points distributor and mounted as far forward as possible fit without firewall or hood mods. Thank you for the video.
@fullmoonhotrods7 ай бұрын
It would be extremely tight you still may have to cut a little off the firewall to clear the transmission bell housing. Also a short water pump. I have always cut the firewall just to have a little more room. Thanks for watching!!

I would have made my cuts at top 2 inches higher and eliminated ribs on top..this would have made completely flat firewall.much nicer.
