major props for playing those lines live on that cryptic keyboard.

Yeah, it is a bit of a challenge - but after some practice fully doable!

Very cool to see a real composition like this as opposed to the usual 4 bar techno. Just barely enough patterns in the bank, and I like how you setup the ending chord :)

What?!? No comment on the stickers yet? I got a chuckle out of the mashup of the synth name and agent’s Id number. Edit: and it’s also very cool that you made a song and not just bopped the drum machine on a short loop.

I got one - I noticed that you can set it so that it will play several different patterns in a sequence and automatically switch between them (D01 to D02, D02 to D03, etc). Do you have to do some kind of menu diving to enable this? It looks like all you have to do is hold pattern and then press the pattern numbers that you want to sequence. I tried doing this on my Model: Samples and it didn't work. Maybe that's just a difference between the two units? Thanks, this sounds great mate.

Thank you! I usually don’t go back to old videos and do ”behind the scenes” since I rather make new stuff instead, but I often have some captions or explanations inside the videos (not this one though). However, if you have any specific question on how a certain thing was done, just drop a comment!

That is called "pattern chaining" and works just the same on Model:Samples. No menu to enable it. Just hold down Pattern and the first pattern in the chain, then while still holding those two down press the others, one at a time. See manual chapter 8.13 and you'll find it!

Nice but I think it would sound a whole lot better if you added some double bass drums and louder hats, I can hear it now! But you made some good melodic music
@tubesockor3 жыл бұрын
Yea, mixing is always hard but I'm quite satisfied with how it ended up after all. Thing is that (with the exception of timpani) all drums are on just one of the six tracks, meaning they are monophonic and using sound locks, which makes it impossible to have a kick drum at the same time as a hihat etc. So it is all about finding a good middle way :)
@AABattery4 жыл бұрын
Oh man, really outstanding performance! Such clean playing and great sound design. Be real, how long did it take you to assemble and how many takes?
@tubesockor4 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot, AA! It took some evenings to listen and program the arrangement, but the live playing was not such a big deal to do. Took some rehearsals though :) I think the hardest part was to find out how to mix the individual tracks and sounds inside the patterns to make it work. Still not entirely satisfied there, could probably sit a few weeks more with doing only that...

Pattern chain
@tubesockor4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, like the other answers mention here I'm using pattern chaining. Starting off with a looping pattern first and then queuing up three chain - four patterns at 0:27, four at 1:20 and eight at 2:04. Then the last single pattern (no trigs) at 3:52.
@s.r.b.45824 жыл бұрын
tubesockor super nice man! Thanks for the answer! I didn’t know pattern chains were possible on Model devices!
