I am a huge, HUGE fan of Gigi, but I just don't see why she was chosen? I know this isn't the Nobel prize, but there are some spectacular women in the list who are activists, advocates, businesswomen, I think even a congresswoman. Gigi is tremendously successful in her partnering with big companies like Maybelline and being a big influence to a younger crowd... but my thoughts are more along with... what is she doing with all her reach, her influence? I admire women like Karlie Kloss, Ashley Graham and Cameron Russell, who are in the same industry, and use their "celebrity" to help others and empower women in different ways. I'm sure Gigi donates and participates in many charities, but her humanitarian work or impact does not stand out to me enough for her to deserve this award. (I do know that proceeds from her shoe collection with Stuart W went to building schools). She has a huge heart and is a smart, hard-working girl, but there are other women in her industry who are actively helping others, and in my opinion, deserve it more. But that is just my opinion. I wish Gigi many many more years of success and happiness. I don't frown at Gigi, I frown at the EIC who chose her.

Totally agree with you! So on point. I don't know anything about her than the fact that she is a model. It sounds like she is a hard worker and serious about her career. I don't want to sound like I am a hater. I think everything she is doing is great, but to deserve a Woman of the Year award? Other ladies on the list are hard workers and nice too. I don't think she did anything that stands out to deserve WOY. Then again, I don't know what the criteria is. I hope they start putting people on the cover that isn't a model or actress. Things are changing and I would like to see other deserving woman be aware WOY like female authors, politicians, doctors, etc. Even Amal Clooney seems like a good choice if they want someone who has some celebrity status. If the want another person who is in the spotlight already, then maybe even Patty Jenkins is a better choice! She is the first female to have a big budget superhero movie...something that pave the way for other females.

H Neilson yes she's all those things u mention, but she doesn't speak articulately which makes her seems like an airhead at times, because she sometimes say things that make no sense at all & I think it's because she gets so nervous,when speaking publicly that her mind gets clouded & she loses her ability to say the things in the way she wants to.

Not really deserving IMO. Glamour obviously just needed to select someone with a larger, younger, popular target audience. They mentioned her Instagram following like three times as if that is the most important attribute to a person. And I don't believe she uses her Instagram as a platform for anything other than self promotion and promotion of her products. Her collabs don't mean she is a business woman. It means companies were smart enough to use her face to sell more.
