I hate that the narrative of women being overly apologetic has become another method of policing women. Of course women shouldn't feel uncomfortable with advocating for themselves or simply existing in man-dominated situations, but it's perfectly reasonable to say "I'm sorry" for making a mistake.

Okay, but we do say it way too often, do you have a man close to you in your life? Pay attention for the next year and listen to how often they apologize without being prompted. Women automatically say I’m sorry. Men, it will take them days to apologize. Both men and women need to balance out their apologies. Because it shouldn’t take so long to apologize and it also shouldn’t be a reflex when it isn’t something they should even be saying I’m sorry over. So often, women apologize for OTHER peoples emotions. You annoy your husband because you are communicating necessary information “I’m sorry”. NO! He needs to give her time and even be the one trying to connect to get that necessary daily information/communication, and she shouldn’t be apologizing for doing something that both people should be actively doing. And if he is always going to act annoyed, then he needs to decide a time that works each day and communicate/discuss and come to an agreement both people are satisfied with together, this is just one example..but I could give you THOUSANDS of examples in which women automatically apologize when they shouldn’t be. And it doesn’t just happen with men, it happens with other women. Instead, we should be hearing from people “don’t apologize..you don’t need to apologize, I’m sorry I’m just in pain/tired/it was me.” That is what my man does, he apologizes every singles time I apologize when I shouldn’t be because generally I am reacting to something that wasn’t personal. As a result, I apologize a lot less often now and have more confidence within myself and I’m able to let more people’s feelings/reactions go and not take them on personally.

@@TheKatarinaGiselle But that's a separate conversation tho. She was literally just being polite because she put her leg on him. That's all it was. But Cindy made her feel bad for just being polite. I also apologise too much but that doesn't mean I should abandon basic manners. It's just in poor taste imo. Feminism isn't forcing people into what a specific person's idea of feminism is. It's embracing and uplifting everyone. She stepped on a possibly expensive outfit and apologised. Why should she feel bad about that? This whole show the girls are being put down and dragged and her saying sorry for something reasonable as this is what Cindy is concerned about? Come on now
@TheKatarinaGiselle13 күн бұрын
@ no, I agree with you on the situation within the video. I hadn’t even watched it before commenting. I as speaking generally. I also agree with you with your thought on feminism. I don’t agree with the new age bullshit. This show is just as bad as ANTM!

So she has trauma regarding apologies... and these judges with NO psychology degree think they can say "Oh just channel this into your photoshoots!" like this isn't some inner strength you'll just find in 2 seconds because some emotionally manipulative reality TV personalities in a position of power said so.
@ravaogg983913 күн бұрын
As a person who tends to over-apologize (I´m working on it) - this was so weird to watch! She was afraid she physicaly hurt someone, so she apologized, normal human reaction. And they made a drama out of it. This is too much.
@bethika64311 күн бұрын
I agree. I'm also an over-apologizer. This seems like a normal time to apologize though instead of it being unnecessary. I just don't think this is the best example of a time someone shouldn't apologize
@mysadending13 күн бұрын
The whole "sorry" thing is so dumb. I would be apologizing too if I put my dirty heels that I been walking around for hours in on a probably ridiculously expensive costume. You can tell it was a very production move considering her past drama.

Women are normally quick to apologize for a comment related to self-esteem or fear of authority. Accidentally running into someone warrants an apology REGARDLESS of gender. That's so lame. I'm all for encouraging women to stand up for themselves, but this wasn't the moment to assert that.

Nothing wrong with apologizing if you genuinely think you hurt someone! The dancer is not a prop, it's nice that the model realized she might have hurt him. If she had caused him pain and then only said "it was nice working with you", I would think that's very rude. If Cindy had to say something, this could have been a teaching moment about how to interact with someone else BEFORE doing something. I don't think the model did anything wrong, but if the model was concerned, asking before can give both of them reassurance that the touching is okay. Cindy should be encouraging and modeling consent in photoshoots.

I know people exactly like Yu Tsai and all I can say is that people like him are the epitome of a walking migraine. I remember you saying in an old video that he was that bad that he makes Mr Jay look like a saint, is that something you still stand by? Also I do feel bad for the model who’s been told not to apologize so much, I’ve been told the same thing by not to apologize so much

I do have a suggestion for you to watch. One episode from AsNTM Season 4 wherein the Subaru client yelled at the model for rolling her eyes before the photoshoot, and Cindy was pushing or forcing another model to be eliminated from the competition because she doesn't have a passion for modelling. Hehehe I'm looking forward to your reaction video on this episode.

You know the photographer was also on germanys top model. A German version of the show with Heidi Klum. and he messed with a model there and was disrespectful to her. Her Name was maraike. In her photoshoot he said to her that she looked and Pose like a girl from the red light district. When she found out about it, she told him that he could criticize it more nicely and not compare her to something like that. he was so pissed that she had said something against him and described her as unprofessional and that she would not accept criticism. He was so rude

I always apoligize when i make a mistake or when i said or did something wrong and my son and partner are doing the same thing it's a sign of respect not a sign that people are weak. About the show : I like some parts , the culture, the models are amazing , the woman that coached them the previous episode,... i don't like some things they say, that they pit the woman against eachother and that they eliminate them on a screen. I enjoyed the video thankyou ❤

Commented as a Thai peep (for those who may not know, Cindy, the host, based in Thailand): cindy had kinda specific concept of feminism ngl. While she encouraged people to "dont tell me how to dress" (as she was an s.harrassment victim), she made a tiktok a couple years ago saying that ladies should be at board meeting or anywhere else except stay at home as a housekeepers. I might be bad at wording but yea, she did not prefer the idea of voluntarily stay-at-home women as much as trad wives... (Mind you that, again, it was a couple years ago)

I agree with that. The onky way women can have equality is if we no longer have babies. Or find a way to make men get pregnant too. Being a housewife should never be something women should have to do.
