Dosen't the steam engine need oil on the piston rods? That dosen't sound right to me.

The whistle is not very good mine only lasted a few times and now doesn't sound

Well, not to sound rude, of course, but the whole thing doesn't really rely on the whistle. You could maybe find a way to fix that? Perhaps something that you did accidentally caused the whiste to stop working? Maybe there is something stuck up there?

Two comments...you filled the boiler too full campared to what is recommended...and two...did you not hear the squealing of dry parts when you started the steam engine...it is standard practice if you want efficiency and to guard against excessive wear to lubricate every pivot point and wear point on a steam engine to facilitate smooth operation without excessive wear.

It can’t. The safety valves will release steam if the pressure gets too high.

He said distilled water. You use that to prevent calcification building up in the boiler water reservoir which happens when you use just regular tap water.
