This is Steamworx, a Model Engineering channel. Building Dyak continued...
Yet another casting to have a go at, the steam chests are the second part of the cylinder set to be made, making use of both the lathe and the milling machine.
Building this model steam engine in 2 1/2 inch gauge, Dyak (an LBSC design) continues with making the steam chests. These also start life as gunmetal (red brass) castings but again they could be made from stock. There are a few things that can go wrong with these, indeed a couple do. It will be interesting to see how many of you spot the errors that creep into this machining sequence.
As always there is nothing to hide here, mistakes and all, a slightly shorter video but plenty in there all the same!

At least you are honest about errors but as you did most errors can be sorted. Its looking good and I am sure will end up a fine model.

@@johnturvey3654 Lovely part of the world. I was lucky enough to have been to Melbourne and Sydney for work. Made some good friends and visited the Hunter valley, Blue Mountains and a few other places! There are some excellent ME societies on Oz!!

@@steamworx TIM i subscribed your channel a while ago and i enjoy it. Even i do not comment i always give a thumb up. I am myself building a vulcan beam engine from scratch. I made the wooden patterns cast the brass parts and i am actually machining them. machining vids will be uploaded later on. You can have a glance on OL6162 to have an idea. Keep up the good job.
