Hey Bill, you have a great looking railroad there. I am an ex BR man in the UK. I was a shunter(conductor). My job was getting in between. Loved it, best job i had. However, I find the very slow running of American railyards quite tedious. We had class 08 shunting (switchers) engines. They are 0-6-0, 850 hp diesels with a max of 15 mph. Proverbially we said they could pull a house down. Obvously we were slow when attaching or easing away from other vehicles, but if we had a run we made good use of that 15 mph. Just an observation, not criticism. 👍👍👍 🇬🇧

Thanks Robert! Always great to hear from a real railroader. My prototype railroad has speed restrictions due to track age and conditions, so I tend to take it pretty slow 🐢Thanks again for the first-hand info from the UK. Take care - Bill.

@@robertbate5790 I'm always surprised at the difference between US railroading and the rest of the world.

@@MyFingerLakesRailwayLayout I'm sure. Our 'heavy trains' wouldn't even make you switchers sweat, lol 🤣. I must be honest though I am amazed at how quite your massive locos are compared to some of ours.

Layout is looking very nice with lots of details all the time. The loco sounds really good with the scale sound speaker enclosure!

Looks great! Just the right amount of detail. The weathering on the rolling stock is particularly impressive.

Thanks Breor! I used photos from the prototype railroad, it was a lot of work but well worth it to have one-of-a-kind cars. I've got a few weathering videos that show the process. Thanks for commenting! Bill.

Thanks Rob! Yeah, Leon wears a lot of hats. Whether cutting brush with a chainsaw, or welding old rolling stock - He's the backbone that keeps this railroad running. Cheers - Bill

Good stuff as always Bill!👍 I love seeing (and hearing) 1995 on point - is she an Atlas with a keep-alive? Flawlessly slow running!!!😎👍

Thanks Openeyes! Both locos are Rapido B36-7'S. I've downloaded B23-7 sound files, cause that's what the prototype runs. I don't think they have keep-alives. But I always run them in a consist (again, following the prototype.) Both locos are always pulling. So if one hits a spot of dirty track and stutters, the other one is still picking up good power. Thanks for commenting - Bill.

Thanks Allen! It's all code 70 Micro Engineering. The main is on cork roadbed. At the industries, the track sits on the plywood sub roadbed. All I did was weather the ties and rails a little bit. Take care - Bill.
