While I do not stay in New Delhi anymore I remember back in the early 2000’s until maybe 2010 there used to be a famous gay pub called Pegs & Pints. They hosted a gay night every Tuesday and would be attended by the gay population in Delhi. They had a cover charge of Rs500/- so the crowd was mostly decent. I definitely recollect seeing Rohit Bal, Vijay Arora, Manish Arora and Suneet Varma in these parties. Back in those days Sabyasachi was constantly looking for boys on the yahoo chat rooms. However I heard he was not interested in male models but more in the regular crowd. They would invariably bring some boy toys (upcoming male models) from the fashion world along with them. Some of them would pick up boys from the party place and take them home. I learnt that the fashion industry is notorious for men as most designers, choreographers are gay and it’s almost taken for granted that if you wish to succeed in fashion and then graduate to movies sleeping around is mandatory. A lot of boys indulge in this to get work. With more awareness most of the boys from the newer generation don’t even think twice before sleeping for work because for them their career goals come before anything else. Because everyone indulges in it in the fashion world it’s not possible for anyone to come out and talk about sexual harassment or # me too.
