Did you think that the bodies in the Salvinos J R Models 1/25 scale kits, were just street car bodies? Not at all. What's your thoughts?

I'm fine w/ both. AMT rereleased the '71 which is GR8. 1 problem & I went crazy doing it. AMT release measures out w/ a 117" WB. Stock, it's supposed to have a 115" WB. It's the reason it doesn't look right. Sawing off the front clip, reattaching after sanding & prep it looked a lot better...yeah a lot of work for not much. 😆 The Salvinos JR kit looks GR8! I recall reading statements from Butch Hartman and Harry Hyde back in the day where the roof was lowered ever so slight and the windshield laid back. One person they both said was good with those bodies was Robert Gee. The Salvinos body looks to my eye to have the windscreen and roof massaged a little, or is it my eye fooling me? Good comparison Luka!

Something I saw, from the overhead view the fenders are a bit wider on the AMT body, I know some might think I'm looking at the extra in the engine compartment but if you'll take a close look, right where the grill attaches to the bodies then you'll see what I'm talking about.

Very little differences between the two body's but noticeable when your lookin for them

When I did my Hellcat powered Charger I kit bashed the AMC with the Salvinos I used the AMC hood and had to extend the length a bit

A couple friends of mine drag race this generation Charger. One is a 71, 440 Six Pack, that was purchased new by my friend Nick. The other is a 73, that was purchased new by my friend Tom. Tom's car was converted to a 74 to compete in NHRA Stock with a 360 engine. Nick's car is being raced as it came. Nick's car is yellow with a black vinyl top, and Tom's is dark green. Tom set the K/SA record back in the 80's. Nick's car is currently in C/SA, and has held the D/SA record back in the 90's. There is a yellow 72, Charger competing in K/SA with a 360, but I don't know the owner. This generation Charger doubled as the Super Bee, in 71. The Coronet was the Super Bee from 68-70.

Yeah, I agree. BOth bodies have great details for their desnated build types .

I believe Jim Rodgers took the measurements for the charger from Richard Pettys actual race car.

Looks fine to me in both kits. I believe there is a WB issue w/ AMT's kit. They draped a 115" wb 3rd Gen body on a 117" 2nd Gen chassis. A lot of work to remove plastic the width of what a 1/32nd".

I love how everyone on line swears Salvinos got the body wrong. And only the stock body amt kit is correct body

The side window cutout is too round on the roof when you look directly from the top!!
