huh, it seems when I move the sketch to create the layered effect, the body does not go with it. must be be a spline or are lines fine?

If you are following the second part of the video where I use T-Splines, only the initial T-Spline follows the spline. In Fusion 360 T-Splines are direct models and they won't respond to further edits on the spline.

Ah yes, sorry, I'm still new. I tried using pipe with the square display and some areas are very wonky and not squared. It's much like the Celtic knot but much more squared and the lines zig zag. I'm not precisely sure what's wrong.

In theory the video above already explains the concept of how that can be done in Fusion 360. However, if you really want to model each string and not on a flat plane either, I would not use Fusion 360 for this as it does not have the tool set to help you with this and it would be an all manual very labor intense process. For such projects I would use Blender or another Sub-D modeler.
