I always have difficulty with tutorials without vocal instruction and it doesn't seem like there are many on youtube. I'm following your keys but things aren't looking the same and i find myself going back all the time trying to see what step i missed. Do you have a written version of the steps?

Oh, nevermind! I got it! He scaled along the Y axis. I was working along the X-axis so I just needed to scale along the X instead. Hope this helps someone else!

Also it can simply press "S" for scaling and then press "Y" and number pad "0" to flat the line. =)
