I remember when Vehicle Simulator used to be so popular and the reason why it got less popular was because of the exploiters ruining the game and SimBuilder not doing anything about the exploiters, the game got less and less popular and as of now, SimBuilder has been arrested for carrying weapons in his car during that convention he tried sneaking into

Vehicle Simulator… never thought I’d ever hear someone say that name. It was my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE game to play back in 2020! I played it every day for months and I remember when it used to have 5K+ players daily, would always be on the front pages, had car meets, even roleplays rom time to time. It even had a DeLorean 🙀!!! The game was something else at the time, and was super fun for everyone who played it. But then Simbuilder released the update. A new map (One which I personally disliked) and car models which a lot of people agreed were horrible. If that update was never released, maybe the game would still have a chance today. I still play it sometimes, but I always get reminded of the update that ruined its reputation as one of the best driving games at the time. Hopefully it comes back one day, even though that definitely won’t happen. Thanks for reminding me of such a great game. (Please don’t say “I ain’t readin’ allat” 🙏😭) Edit: So Simbuilder was arrested in 2023 for bringing a gun to RDC. No wonder there hasn't been updates. Now there's pretty much no possibility of the game ever reviving 😔

Driving Simulator was insanely well optimized, reflecting its high player cap, which was hard to come across at the time. It's a huge shame that it died off like it did. Drive City's circuit races were actually very good, and you could hand anyone's rear to them if they weren't built for the race at hand, which I frickin ADORED. You have no idea how good it felt to beat a Ferrari in a Camaro. It's even worse that it had to be closed down as a whole, as opposed to just losing popularity. Finally, I was an alpha tester for Vehicle Simulator, and it fell off REALLY hard. Vehicle Simulator completely fell apart after the Hot Wheels event with the introduction of freebie cars like the tub rod, ruining the balancing and encouraging players to only race at the airport with top-tier cars to get tons of cash. On top of that you could NEVER find anyone to do races that involved cornering, unless it was the highway race which only took wall-riding to complete. In a way, Vehicle Simulator destroyed itself thanks to both the community AND SimBuilder's decisions. Don't get me wrong, that also sucks, but it was time for it to be put out of its misery at that rate. An honorable mention, however, should be REV//. It's insanely obscure as of right now, but the physics were immaculate, the driving felt SO good, the cars were completely original, and now literally nobody is playing it and that makes me sad.

The high player count lagged driving simulator hard tho, you basically have to have god tier internet to play it, and even when I eventually did upgrade my internet to a way better speed the game still lagged because Roblox's servers couldn't handle the high amount

I played Vehicle Simulator back when the game was in its earlier development stages in 2015. I'd be the only one playing for days at a time sometimes. Every vehicle was spawned not through U.I, but by those old purple spawner blocks that we all know and love from old Roblox. The community was really chill and SimBuilder was more community focused back then. It's heartbreaking to see how one of my old classic favorites got basically swept up by money and greed. The map from back then was a small city with a mountain to the side, and a large highway surrounding it. Was truly a lot of fun.

In terms of updates and community AND replay ability, cc2 is the best. Stopped playing in late 2019 after my friends quit too. I check once a year or so, still suprised to see it get updates to this day.

I was an Alpha player for Vehicle Simulator, so I've made quite a number of memories in that game. I remember the discord server being so active at the time, even Simbuilder was on there. I'm pretty sure the downfall of the game started when Simbuilder started adding fictional-looking cars, and started to replace the existing real-looking ones as well. Customization of VS was peak at the time, camber, wheels, wraps, you name it. He kinda broke the suspension system at some point and never tried bothering to fix it. People complained about that, cars being changed, and newer cars not looking too good. People held on to that for a while, but soon enough the playerbase gradually decreased, and new, better-feeling games were released with models that looked a hundred times better. That's what probably killed the Simbuilder the community knew. I've followed him over the years on Twitter and it was sad to see what eventually spiralled him to madness. He kept posting about cryptic stuff that didn't make sense at all, and just straight out lazed from even updating the game. He continued to claim about having so many ideas about the game and whatnot, but none of those came into fruition. The community just collapsed eventually and here we are. It was a good run, can't lie. It's just a bit sad on how much potential the game had especially with its reputation. If only it was acquired by big publishers at the time. Unfortunately, it was already way behind the things we had.

You forgot Ultimate Driving. Sure, it's still alive around 1.000 players full with bots and grinding maniacs however this games used to be one of the best driving focused roleplay game out there. I remember it should have over 20k players back in the day it's glory days before 2020. The developers tried to be more racing focused and did a collaboration with the worst possible company called "GameFam". The game was such a realistic and featured game with so many roleplaying aspects. It was a sweet little county style map rp game turned into cyber city racing game with a lot of bugs and lack of actual players.

That’s good to know. Since for the longest time I wanted to become a mod there even though I was never was able to (with applications not being a thing). It was one of those things I would try for until I eventually got it. But after it went downhill that’s when I just quit playing altogether (and that’s coming from someone with over $50M and all the vehicles) and gave up with getting mod (even after getting a lot of experience).

ItsMatrix use to have a game called "Drift legends" or something like that, where the purpose of the game was similar to drive city, but in terms of drifting. The game got shut down, because Matrix didn't pay the devs and overall had a bad reputation within his own server, where I was a moderator (or well, helper towards mods) and he pretty much broke his own career.

I played Vehicle Simulator extremely frequently from July 2017 up until late 2021. I did everything from meeting longtime friends, vibing in the apartments, having fun with glitches and rag dolling. Helping random players do the map-wide puzzle for the Starry Galaxy camo (before it became free to everyone). Flying the helicopter to the moon to look at the secret Tesla Roadster easter egg back when Elon launched a Roadster into space (which doesn't exist anymore on the new map). Car meets & races, chase rp's, flinging players cars with the "Thanos Truck", buses, tow trucks, swat van, and the yacht, and many more. Hated the new map, I always loved the original one. I really miss the tomfoolery and shenanigans I did on VS with my friends and occasionally getting the whole server's attention on whatever crazy stuff was happening. I was really concerned when I got notifications from the summit studios discord of Simbuilder acting weird last year on the summit studios server spamming: "WE ARE TRANSFORMING" "IGNORE THE FOOLS FOCUS ON THE VISON" "I will show you all" "FIX THE COMMUNITY" 'WE HAVE TO INCREASE THE IQ" and then other people spamming: simbuilder? i was simbuilder once. they locked me in a verse. a metaverse. a metaverse with schizoposting. and schizoposting makes me simbuilder. Then couple months later we all know what happened to Simbuilder. 🗿 Vehicle sim still has a very special place in my heart and my Roblox history. But nowadays I put more time into Midnight Racing: Tokyo since I've been playing it since October 2019.

Vehicle Simulator is really my only favorite game back in 2017 to 2019, it’s the first and only game to this day I paid to play it, I still remember I driving my blue R34 and literally everyone is in the airport drag strip waiting to race, I even beat some superstars with my R34. And it’s sad that hot pursuit events got removed, it’s buggy but I still enjoy it anyways. The game is pretty astonishing back then but around 2019 new and better games released(especially Wayfort which is Driving Empire right now)and Vehicle Simulator really just fell off. As I fully quit around 2019 I still hope this game will eventually become popular again…. And you know what happened in RDC2023 It’s sad to see this game is completely dead.

I still have a BUNCH of op cars, super rare and all, but the game just started to suck after the big map update for me, but it all went downhill after simbuilder left. As someone who was present during Vehicle Simulator's drop off and was friends with big names such as Space009, Tigo, and Sycrea, and even GeneralKiko, the reason the game died was 1. The beef between SimBuilder and newly Artemis. Sim was refusing to pay Artemis the money he was owed and this spawned a meme about Game of Thrones. 2. The game had a ton of exploiters, yes. The reason for this was SimBuilder had not given people the Admin panel to be able to ban people and wasn't even in contact with the mods of the game at that time (this is information taken from a close friend who was a mod at the time). 3. The biggest thing that had ended up killing the game was, a ton of people were begging for a new map for years. Well, we got one but the cost was performance. High end PC's in the year 2021 were struggling to run 60 FPS stable and and the problem wasn't fixed until way later on. Additional info. One of the mods who at the time, I believe was 19 was talking to someone who was 12 (sexually, and these are allegedly). Another thing is that SimBuilder was extremely tough to work for, before the map was added, there were tons of iterations which he didn't like but didn't give enough input on to help form what he wanted.
