The bowls and the money they generate for the teams and conferences are the reasons why college football is still so screwed up in determining who is a real champion most of the time. In the almost 150 years of college football there still hasn’t be a real official NCAA champion. The Current system is a joke as much as the BCS was. It seems that they want all the drama just to get more money

I don’t get the hate that this team gets from some of these people, they were 0-12 2 years ago when barely anybody went to their games. Their best defensive player has one hand who is the heart and soul of the team, and works harder than all of us. They beat everybody on their schedule which is all you can do. They beat a team who beat two #1 overall in back to back weeks and lost to Georgia in the SEC game (which it is hard to beat a team twice in the same season, which ucf did beating Memphis twice. They played 11 straight weeks after hurricane Irma, with no bye and a couple Friday night games yet some people just don’t give ucf the respect they deserve and instead decide to bash them. They fund out that their coach was leaving them after they won a conference championship yet still came back, and proved everybody wrong by beating a team who were 9 point favorites in the Peach Bowl, by 7.They are national champions in my book and you can’t argue it because they did not lose and beat a very good Auburn team that was one win away from the playoff, which is corrupt since Alabama got in by getting THIRD in their conference, I’m sorry but the SEC is not that good. By the way this is not just their only good season, hint 2013 season when they beat Baylor in the Fiesta bowl. Ucf is on the rise and you better know this name and respect it because they will not go away. Great season and a Great team.

Jake Shine I am a die hard fan of UCF and went through some really tough seasons going 0-12 twice lol, so seeing a season like this is very very special. Guys like Kevin Smith, Blake Bortles, Daunte Culpepper has put us on the map and the one who built this program was the coach before Scott Frost coach George O Leary. Great program on the rise watch out.

I watched UCF on their first game of that season and said to myself, that team is gonna be a very good team this year. I watched every game of theirs that season and had the most fun I've ever had in a college football season. I was on the edge of my seat when they played Auburn. I'll admit, I didn't really know UCF until that first game of the season but I immediately fell in love with em and made them my new favorite team. Best season ever. I got extremely upset when they lost in their bowl game against LSU but the 25 game winning streak will go down in history. GO KNIGHTS

Pat Slovokia Auburn was a 3 loss beat up team that didn't want to play in that bowl against UCF. Bama was had been bit hard by the injury bug when playing Auburn and same with Georgia in the first matchup. UCF still isn't ready to play the top 4 in the playoffs I promise.

Chaotiki they beat Bama who was very injury ridden with thier top 4 LBs out and beat UGA the first time when UGA had 7 players out. They got dominated in SEC title game when UGA was healthy with only 2 linemen out. Auburn had 4 losses and had Bama been healthy they would've lost to them and lost to UGA the first time had they been healthy as well and then it would've been BAMA and UGA in SEC title game instead of UGA and Auburn. So don't take too much stock in BARELY beating a very beat up Auburn team with 4 losses who only beat the top 2 while those top 2 had several starters out. The top 2 are very healthy now and are true top 2....that was the best bowl UCF ever played in and Auburn didn't care a thing about playing in that bowl game.

Nebraska just doesnt fit in well with the big 10. Nebraska has been trying to be finesse/speed and that just doesnt work in the big 10. Also having a terrible defense every year doesnt help either. Should of stayed in the big 12.

Wisconsin, same type of schedule as UCF, UCF played a defeated very high ranked teams. Yet Wisconsin was ranked higher than UCF. Why? Because it was part of the NCAA cartel group of 5 confrences. UC F has vowed to change the NCAA control and allow the 120 colleges left out the 100 year old NCAA system.

I agree with everything, except even Wisconsin got screwed over by the rankings too. They started 12-0 yet the committee barely moved them up while they kept winning, and moved teams with losses ahead of them on multiple occasions. I think the main issue is that there's a clear bias toward traditional powers. Even "power 5" teams can get screwed by the playoff cartel because the traditional powers like Bama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, etc. get the benefit of the doubt. Look at TCU from 2014. I'm glad my school (UCF) is standing up to this corrupt system.

Dylan Boley nah they aren't ready to play in the top 4. It's a whole different ball game playing against the top 4 when they are all playing for a national title shot and all want to be there than it is playing against a disappointed 4 loss team in Auburn playing in a bowl that means nothing to them. And UCF still barely won that game. Put them in against the top 4 playing for a title and they get dominated like UGA dominated Auburn in sec title game when they were healthy. Don't forget Bama only lost to Auburn due to having 4 of thier top linebackers out along with linemen. Not to mention that the entire TOP 15 would go undefeated in the AAC.

UCF may have not made the 2017-18 playoffs, but every one of their accomplishments in that season alone are the reason why more smaller schools are rising their way up the college football rankings today. Eli W they need to have an NCAA committee decide and have more than just 4 teams and should include ALL conference champs. Conference championship games are total bullshit now if Ohio State and BAMA get in but they don’t get a chance. NCAA needs to structure it like the do for basketball. They don’t need to have over 60 teams in it but 8 to 16 teams for every conference champ and have at large bids for the ones like Bama and Ohio Sate If they don’t win their conference but are a better team. College football is still like in the 20th century in how it decides its national championship. It’s time for the NCAA to make some progress and have an NCAA college football playoff and award an NCAA trophy not that Olympic torch peace of crap.

As a Bama fan, I can say that without a doubt UCF got screwed. I've liked them for a long time as I have several family members who received degrees from there. I wish the pollsters would've taken them more seriously throughout the season. UCF would've made for a much better CFP team than say, Clemson, who earlier lost to a dismal Syracuse team and played horribly in the Sugar Bowl. Don't blame you for being pissed. Seven 8+ win seasons mean jack unless you are doing that against P5 competition which would only happen with out of conference games which at most is 3 a year. Recruiting would also be a lot easier once they are p5 and they are located in Florida. These are not preferences I have no ties with UCF however I think they could go at least 5-7 in the Acc.

I think UCF would do really well in the ACC. They quality of players they could recruit would sky rocket because higher profile guys would want to play for them when they're in a more competitive league. They may struggle initially, but in a couple years, I have no doubt they would adapt. It would also attract much better coaches to the program if Josh Heupel didn't pan out. Orlando is also in a fantastic location to recruit. I think UCF would excel.

Supreme Anthony 05 Scott Frost used to play for Nebraska and he got a good contract to play at his alma malter.

According to people close to Frost, it was a really tough choice for him too. He loves UCF and I really think Nebraska is the only other place he would've chosen to go. He even declined an offer from Florida.

Lil Mickey 121 It is rare in life to find that special person that takes a group of young men , makes them into a family and never gives up on them or himself . Frost and Husker Nation know him as a leader , player , who took ' 97 ' Huskers to a Championship win. Believe it or not , this CFL team was so good and the Husker fans could really relate to the love shown to Frost and the amazing coaches and players that many cried with Frost when they won the " Championship " game and when he said goodbye to them. It's a great contract that he got at Nebraska, but no one was taking money the day he was introduced as the new Head coach -- he was home -- and Nebraska seemed a little Redder and it was like the roller coaster came to a stop finally. Nebraska will always cheer for CFL and our guess is Nebraska may play them one day , who knows, for the National Championship game .

Good season. Messed it up at the end by saying you are national champs. On top of that the coach hypes them up so much to bail probably knowing he was not going to repeat the success he just had. But hey, I'm sure your kids will love to hear your story about the time your team was pretend national champs.
