One of your better builds IMO. It's so easy to go overboard with mud and weathering (I could mention some other YT model builders here) but you managed to keep it subtle yet convincing. I particularly liked your treatment of the mufflers- clearly rusted but not stark bright orange, and with plenty of color and texture variation.

Great job. Going with a recaptured paint scheme was very interesting, especially the way you used the reference photos as a guide for the build. I always find it tricky modeling something that was roughly done in real life in such a way that it looks realistic and not just an example of sloppy modeling. I think you definitely pulled it off here. The tank looks great and is very eye catching with that unusual combination of German colors and French markings. I’m working on this kit now (doing one of the French Army schemes). I noticed you left off the tools on your build. Was this an oversight or part of the ‘plan’ with it being a captured tank?
@ModelNerd Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yes, I like those unusual schemes but as you say, it's hard to pull off the "hand painted" look without it looking like a bad job. The tools were deliberately left off - I figured somewhere along the line they got removed and not reattached :)

This look‘s georgeous! I really like this paintjob and weathering! Pronounciation advice: You can split it up as Neu Bau Fahrzeug Neu (meaning new) is easy. Imagine the word ‚joy‘. The ‚oy‘ sounds like the german ‚eu‘. Bau ( meaning construction) Now you are surprised how easy it is to pronounce the word ‚Neu‘ like a real German rivet counter and you make ‚wow’🤯 The ‚ow‘ of ‚wow‘ sounds pretty similar to the German ‚au‘. Now getting to ‚Fahrzeug‘. Literally meaning ‚drive stuff’. We Germans have our own kind of humor...😅 Fahr should be an easy one. Imagine a ‚fart‘ without the ‚t‘ and with the focus on the long ‚a‘. And in ‚Zeug‘ we again have the ‚eu‘ like in ‚joy‘, again. And the german ‚z‘ is a pretty harsh sound, maybe as an ‚dz‘ for English speakers. And as an armour modeller you may know Fahrzeug also from Sonderkraftfahrzeug, Sd.Kfz. shortened. That’s it. Do with it what you want, but in case you want to give it a try this might help you. Keep on modeling and stay healthy my friend🍻
