It's funny, I tried the Negra for the first time last week too after watching their review and could not agree more about how it's superior to the Especial. I have to go a little bit more out of the way here to get it, but very worth it.

The Negra is so much better but I understand why some people like like the lighter beer. I love darker beers, more flavor.

We tend to love dark beers too, so I'm sure that played a big part in the decisions we made while doing this vs battle.

I like both but for me it all depends on the weather if its hot like summer ill do the Especial very cold and for nice cold weather like auttum here in North Mexico ill do the Negra,but i like both when ever if there is no other.

I'm a mexican in Mexico City. We are really used to drink both, but I usually avoid Negra because it's more likely to get really drunk 🤣🤣 Victoria and Modelo Especial are waaaay more usual than Negra and even Corona. Somebody already told you about Indio, but I usually won't drink Cuauhtémoc-Moctezuma beers, really don't like it.

Fun fact the negra has black bottle to block any light so the taste don’t change .my 1st choice is negra for a treat for myself few bucks more then especial and the especial I’ll share with freinds family .

10/12/2024. Joe and [A] this is fun, but beer should be done with food. My suggestion is do this with a plain pizza. Omit all meat just the crust tomato sauce and a mild cheese. I love this beer with Pizza.

As a European it makes me kind of anxious seeing beer without foam. Negra Modelo is different from Modelo Especial. Like compairing "tasting beer" with "drinking beer".

If you really like "Negra Modelo".... you should try "Bohemia Oscura" and "Noche Buena Bock", those beers are way better than "Negra Modelo" .... Cheers.

Comparing Modelo Especial to NEGRA MODELO, is comparing apples to oranges. It's dumb. If you're going to compare Negra Modelo to anything it should be to it's oldest and main competitor in Mexico (available in the US also), Indio, from Cuauhtemoc Moctezuma. Both of them are excellent beers.
