This system would be great for signaling. Especially for those who have layouts and don't really want a complicated signaling system, but rather a quick and easy way to add signal indications with the option to change aspects with just a push of a button.

Do a video showing the system being installed into a layout. Drilling thru plywood tabletops, routing wires underneath, and back “up” to the controller modules. And then show the buildings being picked up for interior maintenance.

Great product for new Model Railroaders just getting into the hobby or those who have problems with electrical stuff. Those of us "Oldsters" who have been in the hobby forever perhaps not so much. Overall, I'm sure this new product line will be a great boon to many.

Does it require one whole cord for each nano light?

Grade crossing lights would be Awsome
@ModelSceneryExpert
@ModelSceneryExpert 9 жыл бұрын
Hello Donnie, Absolutely, grade crossing lights would be awesome, and the Nano Lights offered in the Just Plug System are specifically for this purpose! They are meant to simulate individual bulbs, and the red flashing Nano Lights would work great for flashing grade crossing lights. You would just run and super glue the wire alongside crossing bar, drill a tiny hole through the bar and light fixture, large enough for the Nano Light to fit through and super glue the Light in place. Paint the wire the same color as the crossing bar. Now you have a light ready to flash red when you have the crossing bar in the down position. Nano Lights can be used in the same way for vehicle headlights and taillights, flashing tower lights, factory light bulbs, etc… Hope this helps and Happy Modeling.

Hey Woodland! Great video. When running my layout at night, I would like to create a moonlight effect above the layout. Could I do that with the stick - on lights or nano lights? (I have shelves that hang out over part of the layout that I could attach them to.) Thank you for your help. Keep up the good work.
@ModelSceneryExpert
@ModelSceneryExpert 9 жыл бұрын
Todd Goaslind Without actually seeing your set-up, a recommendation for placement is tough, but it sounds like you could very well stick the light up under the shelf. The LED Stick On Lights simulate more of an overall glow, and the Nano Lights simulate an individual bulb, so for a moon effect, we would recommend trying the Stick On Light to get the effect you are looking for. Hope this helps!

That system it's very cool? Just don't understand one thing. I can control the intensity of the lights, alright... So far so good. But my question it's can I control the blinking lights with that? Can I define a different blink time to each one off the different lights? Or it's just the led that blink and that just control the intensity/brithness of the led? Thanks 😉

Dominique du Chatenier Hello! Both of our European distributors have indicated they intend to carry the Just Plug Lighting System. You may want to ask them the next time you are in there shopping. Hope this helps!

OK, I have a question: Suppose I want a building to have an interior, but I still want illumination, what would you suggest I do then?
@ModelSceneryExpert
@ModelSceneryExpert 9 жыл бұрын
Michael Mohrmann Hello Michael, This is a great idea! Most of our O scale Built-&-Ready structures have lights and interiors, and the lighting really brings out the realism in the interior. We suggest test lighting your building with your chosen interior until you reach the effect you are looking for. You can use the Light Block Kit or the Light Diffusing Window Film to cover windows that do not have a view of an interior, or to create the illusion of another room that does not have any lights on. Hope this is helpful!

***** That's all well and fine, but I model in HO scale. So what are your suggestions? Thanks again. :)
@ModelSceneryExpert
@ModelSceneryExpert 9 жыл бұрын
Michael Mohrmann Hello Michael, I guess i worded my answer poorly, and I apologize. I was using the O scale as an example of how well that idea works....even with other scales. Go ahead and install your interior, and temporarily affix your lighting in various positions, until you find the one that illuminates your interior to your satisfaction. You may want to put a ceiling in the first floor (for buildings with multiple floors) and use a Nano light, if you want only the first floor illuminated, or you can use the Light Block Kit and/or the to Light Diffusing Kit to completely block or merely diffuse some light from illuminating out top floor windows. Hope this is a more helpful answer!

I would buy this in a heart beat if they had a "just plug" for red blue and red red fast flashing led sets so I can place them in my modern police cars and fire trucks.I just blew my red red and red blue flashing sets as for I was trying to soldier them to the rest of my led building lights cause I took too long to soldier. :/ Oh and I forgot a quick blue and slow white to simulate welding as for a few years back I burned that out too again trying to soldier it.

I just went and bought the whole enchilada last night from Hobby Lobby (well my wife bought it for me). I am using DCC power so that works and tested really well. The red flashing nano is bright, but doesn't flash fast enough for modern police cars. In a sense it could work of course in just a more subtle way. I haven't installed it on my layout, but really happy with it so far as testing goes. Really love the individual dimmers as for not all buildings are built and lit the same way in real life. The yellow are perfect for the classic style of buildings (delis/ bodegas and old apartments). The 2 white lights that the light and hub starter set comes with will work perfect in my modern office buildings and the modern industrial buildings.

These are way too expensive for what they are. You can get like 20 streetlights of anystyle for like $5 on ebay. Its not that hard to wire them up and buy a AA battery pack for $1. Batteries are cheap too at the dollar store I can get 6 AA for $1
