Hey everyone! I'm the merfolk player in this video. (Pretty much anytime you see the signed playmat and pink sleeves that's me playing) I read through all your comments and realized the mistakes I made, many of which were probably painful for you to watch, like me missing the Dryad making my opponent's lands into all islands. I do feel embarrassed when I'm having my misplays exposed on stream like this but at the same time I get to learn from all my mistakes and grow to be a better Merfolk player. Thank you for all the comments - they'll definitely help me in my next Amulet Titan matchup. Cheers!

Yo no worries, thats what make merfolk different from other decks, its very technical and needs lots of experience and gameplay to know how to win with the deck

Dryad makes his lands island!! Merfolk missed playing twice in game 1. First he should have vialed in the islandwalk lord before blocks which was lethal, but even then the tideshaper was a 4/4 which would have killed the dryad which would have board wiped him also which would have won the game.

Are we new to Fish or the match up? Just on a cursory viewing I saw a few errors that were quite damning.

I've been playing merfolk for under a year and this was my first match vs Amulet Titan. Besides me missing the islandwalk opportunity while the Dryad was in play, what else did you notice?

Most involved the Dryad. That card fundamentally changes the match. But here's what I saw... 1. Lost power on your Tide Shapers (connected to the Dryad of course) 2. Subtlety, save your Subtleties for Titan and Cultivator Colossus. That's obviously situation dependant, but it's you "I win button" against Amulet. 3. Trickster, Trickster is a valuable tempo piece in the match up, don't pitch them unless you have to. 4. Sac your fish, if you sac your fish to counter the pact you can keep him from getting the second Titan (you actually only needed to sac fish to keep him off that second Titan). You take 18, but he dies on the next Ring trigger. That last one is a tough line to catch, especially if your opponent is short cutting Amulet triggers, but it was there.
