I haven't played HOTS in a couple years now, but Illidan was always a comfy pick for me. Always went Hunt, and occasionally I'd just use it to reposition on merc camps that had vision, or even use it to escape if needed. It's so much more versatile than just a stun or team fight engagement. There's always something to do on Illidan, which means you're always hitting things, so I don't even consider whether or not it's "worth" using the Hunt, because by the time I'm done whatever I used it for, there's less than 30 seconds on the cooldown anyway, which isn't even 30 seconds because I'm already repositioning and hitting stuff again. You can also quickly and comfortably solo bosses early. Either at level 10, or before that with maxed unending hatred stacks. I always play as if I don't have a team supporting me, but when I'm in the thick of things and get like a Zarya bubble or Abathur hat on me, I just Go To Town. The hardest thing to learn is being aware of your environment, learn what you can target with Dive to reposition and what you can't. Play it well enough, and from the perspective of the enemy team, you're zipping around as much as Tracer.

Modern Day Illidan should be The Hunt and then have Lightbomb put on them as they are about to start charging. Probably one of my favorite combos in the game as an Anduin main.

I have barely ever played this game. Never found anyone to get to duo. Downloaded 7 years ago, still at lvl 80 or so. Still, I like it quite a lot, and Illidan has always been one of my favourite heroes. He doesnt make me feel that much skilled, no great combos or difficult abilities chain to carry out, no crazy stuns/roots/dislocation tools... ...but let me tell you, nothing gives me more dopamine than using hunt, flying into an enemy and blowing him up. So satisfyingggg Keep up the hots videos man, Im here for them :)

i feel a bit sad that he puts videos of games he likes and gets low views and 1 random Hots video shows up and gets like 3-5 times the amount of views. I know i discovered pally through Hots as well but id wish people would watch his other content. Dude is a bundle of energy in all he puts up and they require even more work/editing

As much as I agree his other videos are good, there's reasons for why it happens like this. KZbin won't recommend every video to every sub for example, and people who watched his HotS content probably watch other HotS content too. And a lot of his other videos are hour+ long chunks of RPG's and soulslikes, which is delightful for people who are into them but is really not nearly as bite-sized as HotS is. I love his Remnant and Baldur's Gate vids, but I have to stockpile them in Watch Later and slowly chew through them over the course of days, or find a day to binge them all at once. People are busy these days. To be clear, I don't want him to change what he's doing. I like the long RPG videos. I just can easily see why they don't do well.

That's what happens when you build an entire channel and community around a single game. It happens to every creator. The key is to diversify your content early, but within the same niche. However, as the pool of MOBA games is so shallow due to monopolies, with only DotA, League of Legends and HotS (at the time), your choices are very limited - compared to making a gaming channel within the survival niche, or FPS niche, for example.

Unending Hatred is the far superior level 1 talent. Utilize it well enough, stack it quickly enough and you're off soloing boss before level 10.
