Lol My mom was Salvadorian, and never fully lost her accent. She told me that she thought in spanish and the reason she messed up english words was because she had to translate everything that she said to english and English words didn't sold like how they are spelled. To this day I can remember her saying things like "towel paper" and 'oyo' (oil, as in cooking oil or oil change), infact my brother still says 'oyo'.
