The writers did this a lot… in some episodes, Manny is starting to become popular in Highschool/college while Luke is falling behind. In other episodes, Luke is shown to make friends easily while Manny feels misunderstood and alone…

@@vivekm2757 This happens in nearly every sitcom that's had more than 5 seasons. 15-25 episode seasons are too long to sustain character development WHILST being funny so sometimes the writers just say fuck it. It's perhaps the only downside of sitcoms that is vastly overlooked.
