The sad thing is, I don’t think it will ever stop. Unless there is a serious crash in gaming sales (which I doubt), I don’t think we will ever see a positive change. Only new ways to drain out wallets beyond battle passes and micro transactions. Sad
@mravg794 ай бұрын
Well there always be games worth playing. Maybe not a blockbuster but a game you enjoy. The crash I thought maybe the high budget games reached the point of not being sustainable anymore. But sadly it seems like gaming started acting like tech industry and ride on the hype cycle for investors. Good product helps but is not necessary, just create a buzz put a few buzzword and pump the stock price. When it drops find another buzz words to pump it up preferably above the values company reached before.

Just reminds me during/after Covid all the billion dollar worth pro sports teams started putting ads on their jerseys. All the fans were furious then once they started playing games again they just shrugged their shoulders and went back to consuming the crappy on field product. Consumers have no balls anymore to stand up and voice frustrations. The gaming industry is actually one of the few where consumers voice opinions and stand up to the idiocy

You must be a USA'er. There has been sponsorship on shirts (to give the proper definition) for about 3 decades in the civilised world.
@KenoNoirАй бұрын
@@hazy33 and let me guess you must be a part of the European Union with your snobbish and entitled attitude thinking you’re better than everyone. Let me tell you there’s no one correct “definition” as you call it when discussing the attire of athletes. Different words are used by different cultures and that’s okay. And btw here in the US we call it different names anyway depending on the sport and origin of the sport so we’re more respectful in that way. And what you’re normalizing by calling it “sponsorships” doesn’t make it civilized. You’re pandering to and being a cuck to corporatism greed. But go off lol. Anyway corporate ad space on jerseys is nothing new in the US we’ve had it on our MLS kits for a long time. I would know considering I work in professional baseball. Having sponsors on the clothing doesn’t make you more “civilized” if anything it makes you more dystopian allowing corporate money to infiltrate your top tier sports leagues for so long

The issue is that even people who grew up with older games don't actually care for this issue. Even communities of Fighting Games and ARPGS such as Diablo, with a whole lot of people in their 30s and 40s, will actively defend these and mock you if you disagree, nobody really cares if you get charged $15 for a skin and that's why they are getting away with all this, abandoning microtransactions and going full on macro

It is crazy where gaming currently is at. I feel that If you got to grow up thru the 90's, It really did feel the future of gaming was going to be awesome. Gaming wasn't just hyper focused on graphics. It was focused on physics effects, rag doll effects, an assortment of art styles, having a range of gameplay modes, creative and fun gameplay mechanics, satisfying damage effects, in depth environmental interaction, engaging CPU AI to play against in single player modes, CPU bots in offline modes. Current video games focus on graphical nitpicking. It seems they forgot how much players enjoyed physics effects & other aspects that make games fun. Quirky graphics can work, if a creative art style is used. Add a selection of interesting gameplay modes, the list goes on.. I seriously don't know why gaming had to fall into this rut that we are in..? Also: {We have seen that even if companies delay games, it isn't improving the quality of games being released. Which is a sign there is a MUCH DEEPER issue going on with modern games. No excuses, devs used to make great games with much less and they would have given anything to have certain capabilities to utilize that are available today. It just takes actual passion, focus & talent to make great games. Sidenote: It's so crazy how many people are still supporting super mega rich companies putting out unacceptable products.. i don't understand certain people. I don't understand how certain companies can be messing up so badly. It's frustrating that other passionate people are not allowed to make a version of a type of game that we used to have but no longer get anymore.. Yet these huge companies get full control over if an unused game IP gets made & they do everything they can so no other versions of a game idea will ever come out. Even if there's a huge fan base around certain ideas and there's a ton of passionate devs out there dying to make a version of a certain video game idea.. that frustrates me beyond belief}

You've hit the nail on the head with the notion that modern gaming is terrible but what are your thoughts on how the current generation of kids see gaming? My 5 year old is just starting to experience gaming and I worry that the current AAA gaming experience is going to be the normal and get worse from here - introducing him to retro gaming to try and remedy. Great work as usual, I'm going to try a bit of reverse psychology here and request that you DONT MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT F1 BRAKING POINT STORY MODE LIKE I KEEP ASKING AND WILL CONTINUE TO UNTIL IT HAPPENS.

The only positive of Game pass recently for me has been the fact they are trying so damn hard to get people to sign up for it, they offer ultimate for $1 for a month like every other month if you keep canceling. Also if you start a sub, you can cancel it anytime within the first 29 days and you get a refund. So whenever i get the itch i sub to gamepass ultimate so i can play the ea game or halo or whatever. At worst you spent $20 to play a very large selection of games between pc/xbox, at best you loaned Microsoft $20 and they let you play all their games. Gaming is in a rough state, i just recently picked up an Xbox series S for a whooping $100 just so i could play the new College Football Game, but i refuse to play EA's bullshit Ultimate team stuff. I only buy MTX's from smaller games that i find so i can support them further, but 90% of games are bloated time wasting wallet suckers
