This music is absolutely uplifting, rich melodic speech, harmonies breathtaking orchestration constantly renewed in the use of the stamps of the orchestra, in short a Babylonian sound architecture erected by humbles and immense masters !

But don't take my word for it...John Lewis himself said both this concert (taped during the tour that produced the "European Concert" 2 LP set) and the "Last Concert" of 11/24/74 were the two best live performances the MJQ ever did.
