The "Coffee has ruined tea" sequence is my favourite of all Dave Gorman's material. It resonates with me because it's exactly true. I resent having to pay £2-3 for a cup of tea in a café, when I know it won't be anywhere near as good as I can make it a home with a kettle - and where I know the ingredients cost mere pennies.

I don't understand why won't they be able to get a trolley?
@alansmithee4193 жыл бұрын
@@sachimourya1431 I'm going to assume you're not British and don't have this system, so forgive me if this is a bit long for such a simple question: Shopping trolleys (or shopping carts) are often chained together outside of supermarkets. The way you get one is by inserting a pound coin into a block attached to the bar you push them with. This releases that trolley's attachment to the trolley in from of it, allowing it to be used. When you leave you can reattach the trolley to the rest allowing you to remove the coin (and get your pound back). This system is in place so that people don't randomly steal a trolley (you'd have to lose a pound to do so). These slots are specifically designed to only work if a pound coin is placed in them. The problem is that if the pound coin changes shape, it may not fit the slots anymore, making it impossible to detach them from each other.

The other seasons are on UKTVs application right now whilst season 2 is absent. If we assume Dave's agent is uploading these, as he wouldn't likely do so himself, then it's likely a license issue. UKTV and by proxy Dave the channel have stopped support of that season for reasons unknown. It makes sense that highlights and anything that cannot be put on UKTV is put on this channel. The hope is that there might be a new series that explores the internet more directly as in per websites and then looking to comment sections like this in the works. Whether that is on Gorman's radar I have no clue, but the fact remains, easy access to a show I enjoy is much appreciated.

Incidentally, in those restaurant espresso makers the water for coffee is fresh from the tap and comes through heat exchanger whereas the hot water (for tea I presume) is stale, maybe who knows how many days, from the boiler which hold 2 litres and is never really emptied (nor cleaned I doubt). So ....
@TheMrVengeance4 жыл бұрын
That water comes from the steam boiler, ie. the water that's constantly being used to make steam for steaming milk. So it's just as fresh as any of the other water. Bot boilers are filled from the water line. (Incidentally that also means it IS boiled water, since it's from the steam boiler.)
@jimmiller58914 жыл бұрын
@@TheMrVengeance I have one those machines, the boiler inside is, well not appetising. If the steam is not used constantly then the water in the boiler does not get refreshed. 2 litres of water produces 3000 litres of steam ... you need to make pretty many cappucino foams for that water to get properly refreshed... just saying.

We still put pound coins in them, I actually don't remember it being a problem. In all honesty I don't think the new ones are all that different in size (I didn't keep any of the old ones and I can't remember comparing them!). The dodecagonal shape doesn't make them seem all that different, to me anyway. So if I were to guess I'd say that they still fit in the old trolley's, as for vending machines and such I really can't say! *edit* actually I know that the end of a _yale key_ (if you know what that is) works in trolley's as well, because they're the same size, though round like the old coins.

Ah yes, a nice cup of tea. Cheap and perfect at home or the price of a week's worth of tea at home for one shitty cup in a cafe. Whenever I used to go to starbucks I would always ask for an extra teabag. It wouldn't be a good tea, just a fairly reasonable tea. Whenever I have tea in McDonald's, it's only on the occasion every now and then when tea bags is part of my shopping on that day so that I can put in an extra tea bag. That is closer to a home tea than Starbucks, at home though I'm very specific with my tea. 1 teabag is too weak, I always use one pg tips tea bag and one red label tea bag. I use one sweetener and one level tea spoon of sugar because sweeteners are disgusting on there own and 2 sugars is too much sugar to have every day with the amount of tea I drink and 1 sugar is not sweet enough. So 1 sweetener and 1 level tea spoon of sugar is perfect, sweet enough without just the horrible sweetener taste and without to much sugar. I then fill up the cup until about an inch to the top, I then mix it to get it started and then stick it in the microwave for 30 seconds. The microwave makes the tea bag expand and brew nicely, I then fill up the rest with just under an inch of blue milk only. Any other milk is crap, I then squeeze out the teabags with the spoon and stir. Perfect, a lovely beautiful cup of tea.
