Hey bud, just watched your return video and wanted to stop and say how extremely proud of you I am. I have personally been struggling with alcohol as well, and it has been extremely rough. Addictions in general are bad, but with alcohol being EVERYWHERE it SUCKS. I get it. I have been in a rut recently and have been worried about relapsing, but honestly hearing your words at the start of the video reignited the flame that's been keeping me going. In a few days I will be 5 months sober, which has been one of the most difficult things I have ever done. I truly hope that you know how much we absolutely love and care about you. You've grown a great community here for a reason, and lord knows it's not because War Thunder is a happy and wonderful game haha. You are genuinely an amazing person, and I know from experience how difficult that can be to see when dealing with addiction. The alcohol is the problem; not you. It gets a little easier every day. I've been sober for over 10 years now and the desire doesn't even cross my mind anymore. There's plenty of hobbies to keep you busy if need distractions and always lean on your family and friends if you feel yourself slipping.

i disagree it shouldn't be forced no ww2 against post ww2 vehicle you should be able to choose to get up tiered to post ww2 with your ww2 but not down tiered in your post ww2 vehicle to ww2 vehicles

Then a lot of countries would really struggle because some of their post-WW2 designs only really work against WW2-era designs at best. Also, a lot of early post-WW2 designs were made to fight in WW2 even if they never got to the frontline in time

I almost agree with this. There are some post war vehicles that aren’t good enough to fight Cold War vehicles. I think of the Swedish 4.0 pansarvarnskanovagn. There is a compromise somewhere because I generally think warthunder is boring after WWII.

The year was 2022. I was in my first foreign country. I was 10 days into a 14 day trip through Germany. It was the first day I had to relax. My wife and I were in a small town called Messien. We had no plans. So I laid in bed and played PhlyDaily videos on the TV. My wife couldn't have cared less about WT. But Phly is so genuine, and genuinely funny, that she couldn't help but laugh at the video when Phly made jokes. I had only started watching your videos a few weeks prior to the trip. While you were gone Gaijin added the Obj 292 which is still severely undertiered. Could be fun to take it out for a spin with a generous amount of HE that can overpressure most MBTs in the game by literally just hitting them anywhere (except russian ones ofc). It's like a M109 but fast, has armour, has an autoloader and it gets access to apfsds. Great to have you back.

Had to add to this conversation, where Germany in BR6.7 is REALLY painful. Having your best tank in that tier fighting uptiered stuff the majority of the time is a pretty humbling experience, especially the when the best penning vehicle in that tier is a PZ4-5, and that thing has toilet paper for armor.

I feel like the M109's perfectly fine at WW2 tiers tbh It helps liberate from the oppressiveness of heavies, equalizes the field a bit while having incredibly thin, MG-able armor.

I've been wanting them to seperate the tree between WW2 and modern for a long time. They could then even have a new modern reserve with things like hummers, toyotas, landrovers etc, and give people the choice to start with more modern vehicles which i think would revitalise the WW2 era by bringing back it's own top tier.

They should add a WW2 only vehicle mode. Not hard to just make a list of everything they have that was used in the war for its own queue. But, I would also like to see it have an entirely different battle rating system for those tanks, because almost anything could have met anything else across that spread.

The solution to this WW2 vs. everything else situation could be to make a matchmaker that recognises your lineup. If it notices that you're bringing a mix of WW2 & cold war, then it puts you in lobbies where other players also have a mix, and if your lineup only contains WW2 (or as Phly said pre Jan. 1st 1946.) vehicles, then you get put in lobbies where other players also only have pre Jan. 1st 1946. vehicles.

Super easy way to divide up a new game play - just add a "Semi-historical" game mode that only plays maps appropriate for the time, and divide the game between pre-WW2, WW2, early Cold War, late Cold War, and Modern. In this new game mode the tank battle ranks are adjusted and you might have a significantly smaller line up. To handle CAS/aircraft Gaijin could add a bunch of enemy SPAA around the flyable portion of the map so that it's much more dangerous to fly on the enemy's side of the battlefield, maybe have some columns of SPAA driving around. This would help eliminate the over powered aircraft that loiter. The game can keep GRB and call it "Mixed Battles" that we have the same we have today. Though I've heard Gaijin is totally prevented from developing new game modes. So, this isn't happening.
