Exactly and she said that that girl's body made her feel uncomfortable because her bottoms were moving(which is normal because bigger butts tend to move more)while she was on a treadmill??? Like duh it will move. She is literally objectifying her and saying that the girl should hide her body to accommodate her. And you can't even argue that the other girl is showing off or being inappropriate, she is wearing long pants, not filming herself and not shoving her butt in other people's faces. I swear people want women who are curvy(whether natural or with surgery) to keep their bodies so that others aren't bothered by the curves. Like that's not how it works. If someone's body just existing (without being nude of course)bothers you, then you are the problem.

The “objectively attractive woman” segment gives away so much of how these men see the world. The implication is life is a zero sum game where other people’s success is your failure and girls have an “objective worth” ranked by how useful they are to men. Beauty is great, & it’s true some are girls are more conventionally beautiful than others! Or have amazing style, hair, creativity, etc. But life isn’t a magazine! Everyone has different values, strengths, ambitions, joys and skills. Love & happiness is about finding people who appreciate YOUR unique strengths & values. That may or may not be beauty. Hot people are common. It’s not that unique. They also live and work and age. They change their style, their weight, they have kids, they travel. The thing that actually makes anyone lovable is the person they are & the life they choose to lead. Anyone who sees you as a human being will respect your body because it’s a part of well.. you. They’re going to see and appreciate the whole human being, not just the meat suit???

Why seeking validation when u can be comfortable in your own skin

The planet fitness one got me riled up right off the bat; I used to work there, and it was policy that you weren’t allowed to take pics or film in the club so people don’t have to worry about feeling self conscious because of shit like this. It takes away from the “judgment free zone”. We shut that shit down so quick whenever we saw it; it’s a shame that the employees at that PF didn’t catch her and/or stop her.

And as any traumatized person would do in a traumatizing situation, I pulled out my phone and stood as close to this UNSPEAKABLE thing as I could, and I took a video instead of a picture so that I could reaaaaaally soak up the mind-altering HORROR of witnessing a larger than average body part on someone Ive never met and who has never said/done anything to me... So trauma, much PTSD, need ass therapy NOW" 😂

In my opinion that whole Pick me and NLog seems to stem that that late 90's and 2000's when this Message of "Just be yourself, don't try to fit in when it means you lose yourself and everything you like and everone you love who love for who you rly are" swirling around in the medias- which in itself is a really important and valuable message. But like always they overdid it, and for some reason most of the time they played that out as a catfight like girl against girl (down to earth sympathetic Tomboy vs. popular, evil Barbie). No wonder people internalized misogynie went through the roof with Gen X and Millenials, and that included myself (even though try my best to be a girls girl now).

i hate that they are rebuilding the standards for women we are trying to destroy. like even if i’m the ugliest person in the whole universe with the nastiest body, style, habits and attitude, but i think highly of myself. so what? what does it do to you? like why try to make me feel bad for how i am? yeah, i’m SO gonna be single forever and no man is gonna love me. so what? i just don’t understand pick me’s. like yeah, you’re so right, then what? are we like having a make over or i’m killing myself because some girl i just met is better than me? or because i feel bad about myself now is gonna make the most attractive in the room? don’t think so

this reminds me sm of my ex best friend who tried to steal my husband. it’s such a long story but she was forever posting about how she just wanted to be the perfect little housewife for her deadbeat bf (she’s a chronic cheater and was in a relationship while trying to swoop in on mine), constantly talked about how pissed she got seeing other people that were happy in their relationships, and fished for compliments on her appearance from anyone who listen, despite fitting into society’s beauty standards perfectly. she also invited my husband to a 🌽 server without telling him what was on it and when i confronted her on it, she said “oh but i thought he would’ve told you.” HE DID. he had the receipts for what she told him and nowhere did she say it was a 🌽 server. we both stopped talking to her after that lmao sorry for trauma dumping in yt comments 🤩

1:50 bro- she was literally exercising. The “showing off” is insane to me. Like… how she just “showing off” if she’s exercising? Shit isn’t a competition lol Edit: This shit will never not be weird. As someone who’s queer (lesbian and enby) I’ve hated having my curves be seen as objectified. Like, natural body whether naked or in clothes, loose fitting or not is just a body. It isn’t inherently sexual, and I hate how misogyny ends up making women bully other women for “being to curvy” and should “cover up,” but if you are less curvy then you ‘need’ to “get some jobs done.” Ppl really suck. Like, women are beautiful in their differences, so I really don’t get the point in fucking body shaming a stranger other than her wanting to feed her own ego.

A lot of the pick me girl culture, I’ve noticed, is opposite reactions to what has been regular sexist culture. I find most of them are reactions to stereotypes women have had to live with for years, and the women those stereotypes oppressed now feel like by showing off themselves as desirable, they’re finally getting back at all the people who say that being a tomboy makes you ugly to men, or taking care of your man makes you pathetic. In my opinion, these girls don’t need men, they need therapy.
