When you consider the charts of the early 80s it was the variety of music that made them. There should be room in the charts and on tv for music like this.

Great to hear the trumpeter hold the note on Chery Pink, as in the original. Beautiful tune.

John du Prez with Eddie Calvert's original golden trumpet ! Not heard this since it was last In the charts, songs like this never get played on the Golden Oldie radio stations !

This fabulous cover brings back so many memories of Scarborough back in the early 80's. Fantastic music like this and much simpler times; Ahhh.

it is so true music has reached that point now where everyting has been done. Once upon a time you could name everyone in the top 20 because Radio One played them all but not now. We havent even got top of the pops to watch now. Is it any wonder all the old bands are reforming and having sell out tours.

Very camp and a bit OTT. John Du Prez on the "Eddie Calvert" gold trumpet- badly mimed throughout, still a song that brings back so many memories. You never hear this on any of those Golden Oldie radio stations !

They were always seen as naff in the early 80s and they were but if you were there back then they were infectious their hits fond of this runs through my family from original and i love john Du prez he did a version of oh mein papa that was good it was not a hit though i wish someone would post it sad it is not on you tube.

What a great version to a song that meant nothing to me, when Elvis and r&r was on the turntable. But what this band has done to it is incredible..the added vocals alone make this song all the better to listen to. I like the music, it's been re-vitalized and of coarse the video, easy on the eyes. The Band looks grat in those white outfits and black scarves. thx4 postin' &lol from Vancouver Cda.

@cswtds This song came out about the time r&r was on the turntable. I never cared for the inst that much, easy to listen to. I'll tell you that what this band did to this song certainly helped re-vitalize it. I really like the vocals added and the band looks kind of sensual, decked out in white. The black scarves and those hats gice the Band their name. Better sound, added vocals...i'll be tuning this one in again. Thx4 postin' & lol from Vancouver Cda.

@QofLife69 Surprisingly enough, in the early 80s it was not uncommon for perfectly straight young British men to ponce about looking like Popeye's shirtlifting younger brother. Well, if you lived in the South at least.

Maybe in a few areas of London but nowhere else in the UK. If this singer is straight, it was a pretty exceptional look. Paul Rutherford from Frankie Goes to Hollywood wore a black version a couple of years later and he is gay

In my opinion after 1992 music was awful 60s70s80s was just magic they must have broken the moulds that produced great songwriters of the 60s 70s and 80s
