Any man who says " My wife won't let me...yada yada yada" needs to grow a pair and tell their wife " Hey, I'm not out chasing strange women or coming home drunk or slapping you around, so back me up on what ever I get a little enjoyment out of." I told my wife that very thing over 30 years ago. Sometimes I kinda miss her.

in harder ground you can go through your line at seasons end or when the ground is thawed and use a steel pry-bar about 5 feet long to get them out- put it 1"- 1.5" feet through the loop and lift . will either pull out or break the cable. not needed in my area-rocky, lose soil so usually use rebar stakes anyway.

Dave on your earth anchor set tool weld a T handle to it doesn't have to be big just 2 inches on each side. When they get stuck you have a way to pull then up and twist them easily, you can also use it as a hammer point should it resist pulling it out by hand.

I never get tired of these vids :) I would love to see the results though b/c the traps seem like they can't lose.

Enjoying the trapping videos, thanks! Makes me want to dig my traps out again. That broom was a humorous prop regarding a previous comment someone made, right?? I'm guessing you have a small paintbrush in your pack. Keep filming!
@jj11ist12 жыл бұрын
quick suggestion man, if that broom gets a little cumbersome and bulky you could use a paint brush, might worker a little.

The trap isn't programmed. He just marks the location of the trap on his GPS so he remembers where he set it to check on it later. Hope that answers your question.

Hi dave, I was wondering what you do with the coyote meat and fur once you trap them. Im pretty sure people dont eat the meat and is the fur worth the tanning process and all that worth the moeny you get out of the finished fur? Thanks,Donny warning

hey dave good vid i know nothing about trapping but ik you spray the fox urine to cover ur sent right but wouldn't the a coyote think that the nest has been raided shouldnt it be mouse dropings and sent if the even make or sell it
@auplacerminer12 жыл бұрын
an idea for this perticular set put some oatmeal around the set to actract mice and that could improve chances at a coyote
@therealgarygnu12 жыл бұрын
Maybe I missed it in a previous video, but why do you spay the urine when you are done? You go to all the trouble to make it look as natural as possible, I would think (presumably) the urine would undo all that work. Hope you catch something soon!

If ya really want to see how a coyote works your sets try putting a trail cam on one of your sets and you can really learn a lot.

I am guessing you looked under that log for rattlers before you stuck your hand under there, right?

Dave, i no nothing on trapping and i love this series, excuse my ignorance, but why 4 inches away, it seems too close for a coyote, the distance from his foot to thier nose has to be more than 4 inches. Maybe i dont understand the concept completly. Excellent videos as always and thanks.
@JMAAD12 жыл бұрын
Oh n i agree 100% with the creek water comment Dave...lol
@DavidWestBgood2ppl12 жыл бұрын
I just dont understand what keeping the coyotes away. They are controlled by their noses and you have all the right scents that should captivate (no pun intended) them for minutes.

try this. if you have a dog try to get some of it's pee and place in a spray bottle. then spray the area arounf your traps. the coyotes will sniff around the area and you should trap one. I think that my work

Just outa shear curiousity, why worry with trapping coyotes? Im an avid hunter and country boy, spent most of my life in the woods, hunting fishing, trapping stalking and even advance survivals stuff, just not to keen or sure why someone would want to trap Yotes unless they are being a nuisance. I myself don't know anyone who eats they. Now I would understand in the case of over population.
@sethdyer950011 жыл бұрын
its managment. too many predators= less animals that we consume
@unevenelephant312 жыл бұрын
Dave is that your urine that you are using? did I miss something? Or is it something else that you went and bought? Im okay either way I just dont understand whos urine you are using and why? It is scented already good it seems. Im swear Im not trying to be funny.
@Kayakwinds12 жыл бұрын
I consider trapping to be a dirty sort of occupation undless we are talking about a true survival situation. Just my opinion , of course. Hunting? that's fine, so long as you eat what you kill? So did anyone choose to eat this varmet? I suspect not.
@deadeye191112 жыл бұрын
maybe that yote terd or the fox urine pushed them away thinkng if that many scents and other predators have been by theres nothing left to investigate and its a waste of time and energy just a random thought im in no way a pro trapper ive hunted my whole life all over and sometimes less is better but ive never tried trapping yotes i call them in and my 22-250 or 270 does the rest oh btw h&rnow makes the handi rifle in a 300 black out with a 16 in barrel
@-AT-WALKER12 жыл бұрын
Hey Dave have you ever considered using some smelly underwear for bait? Dogs seem to like sticking their noses, and sniffing in some unusual places haha. I actually started off writing that as a bit of humor but now I'm actually curious if it'd work.
@mkjredemption12 жыл бұрын
But you told me in a later video that this was illegal in Ohio because its to easy to catch hawks. I wont tell no one if you use bait i promise lol im more interested to see what you do with the coyote after you have killed it
