Russia has always had everything of its own and lived only on its own money. Unlike the West, Europe. Which robbed other countries for several centuries. In the USSR, people lived well, when it was destroyed, then people became poor, yes. This continued into the 90s because the entire collective West was plundering the entire eastern bloc. So don't talk about things you have no idea about. Oh, this is an Anglo-Saxon, he knows better how it was than the people who lived at that time. @@PaulintheUSSR your videos are decent - I’ve watched a few and enjoyed them! There is however a lot of talking points that can be made with your reply - how many people from the provinces have the ability to live in Moscow for example? Same as uk right - London is so over priced! Capitalism forces people out of thier birthplace with privatisation and profits before social well being. The choice in products I mean your falling into the trap of thinking more choice is always a good thing? Why do you need 40 different types of TV? International travel is again a pro ledge for those who can afford it under capitalism (which is now being restricted because of an ongoing hideous sanctions campaign). There is also the point of relativity - like you cannot say the Soviets didn’t produce better conditions for the people when compared to what proceeded them. The world is on a massive zig zag to socialism and the Soviets were the world’s first. Obviously they got things wrong. Listen I get it. Your videos are great, but also it’s not a case of black and white on which is better! Capitalism destroys communities which you are seeing with some of the tours you show on border towns. Why is this better etc! Anyway, keep up the good videos!

I don't think he is any worse than any other politician in Russia (or the world). If it wasn't him, it would just be someone else and that person could be far more extreme. Putin is actually very moderate compared to many others. He is measured and experienced. A more volatile president may have reacted worse to the West's provocations and pressed a button by now. For many it's a case of "better the devil you know". I know a lot of Russians are fully behind their president. To be honest with you, I don't support or oppose any politician in the world personally, as each does what he or she thinks best and of course that is so subjective. What you think is a good decision, others might consider a bad decision and visa-versa. Again, personally, I don't follow politics closely, so don't know the in's and out's of every decision. I don't doubt that often there is more to things than meets the eye. Also, I'm not a Russian voter so it doesn't matter at all what i think. I'm a British voter so only have the legal right to make my voice/vote count towards elections in The UK (if I so wished and if they had them!) President Putin is answerable only to Russia and Russians and nobody else. If Russians are satisfied with their president than that's all what matters I guess, as a politician is supposed to please their electorate. No politician could ever please 100% of the population, it's impossible.
