This is one of the worst jobs I've seen. There isn't a straight line anywhere, and they charged nearly $11,000. 11:21 The line from the garage to the main road is terrible. Anyone claiming this crew did a good job is lying. I saw a similar job on the ChrisFix channel, and they did it correctly, with straight lines throughout. Where is the gravel base? They just dug up dirt and laid asphalt over it without adding any gravel for reinforcement. They didn't even remove the previous asphalt. Charging nearly $11,000 for this is ridiculous. Like people say " LANDLORD SPECIAL"

Looks so good! Word of advise (ask me how I know), you might want to address the sharp V where the driveway splits in two. Washout will happen and end up destroying the the sharp part of the V's asphalt. Especially with freeze/thaw. I'd dig down 36 inches and add 24inches of compacted gravel then backfill and reseed or sod. Do this for about 2-3 feet of the lawn starting at the elbow. I learned my lesson.

this is the most messed up drive job ive ever seen, why wouldn't you remove everything and then lay a compacted gravel base to lay the asphalt on top of, why would you lay asphalt directly freshly dug out top soil, that section is going to fail in no time. drive way looks good for now but not after a few seasons
@kylebrown37712 ай бұрын
Exactly. And the price he paid is insane. For that price I expected removal of the old stuff and a gravel base. I got my whole 400 sq ft driveway done for $6000 including removal of old asphalt.

this exactly.. as a german working in street construction i always wondered why the american driveways look so amateur made like the workers get no job training or something.. if you would do a job like this here you would immediately get fired und your companies insurance had to pay the damage that occures after some months when the soil sets.. no gravel layer, no edge binding, this is really hilarious for what price they ask :D
