Huh, weird - my U100 did the calibration step and seems to work quite well

Yeah, its weird. My U100 would work properly for a while but then it would lock while the door was open. No matter what setting I put it on.

Can the U50 cylinder be replaced by a Kwikset SmartKey cylinder, so all my house locks are the same and could be rekeyed in the future with the Kwikset SmartKey tool? Great Video Buddy, keep up the great work...Thanks!!!

Not that I tested but I only have 1 Kwikset. Only the U50 fits the U100 with the U50 bracket. I have not found any other clinder/tumblers including other Schalge that fits.

You mentioned that you can use the re-keyed U50 cylinder in the U100...Can you just replace the U100 cylinder with one that works with the SC1 key as well? I have seen conflicting reports on rekeying that lock.

Only the U50 SC1 cylinder will fit the U100. Plus you have to use the larger hold down bracket from the U50. So it’s not a cheap way to rekey it, since you need both. I haven’t found any other SC1 cylinders that fit the U100. I tried a bunch for the U100 review video.
