Lot of people don’t realize chris warren is basically the hidden 5th member of the chili peppers, he started with them as a roadie and became their main aux instrumentalist for their shows. He’s been a performing member of the band for like twenty years.

I was Drum Tech for Justin Brown, drummer for Thundercat when they supported The Chillis on their European tour in 2022. Chris was so lovely to me. Very friendly, open to chat n advise. Was a pleasure to see him n Chad play every night, as Chad is my hero. Chris is a legend.

I have seen the Chili Peppers live last year with Chad playing this exact kit and it was probably the best live drum sound in a rock context that I have ever heard🤞🏻 That snare projected like crazy

North was a manufacturer that made drums like that - I remember seeing kits where all the toms were that way and it looked like a horn section. Brain mixed in one or two of them with one of the kits he used for Primus in Europe.

Still have my older Pearl Maple/Mahogany kit. It's the perfect wood combination. Gives just a little added low end without being too overbearing to the maple. Pearl was smart enough to discontinue it, and make it part of their custom line, to my dismay. Beautiful kit! Glad to see chad go with Paiste as well. The Signature and Modern Essentials line is exquisite.

I bought used from a friend 1985 Tama Superstar double bass kit a long time ago. The kicks are heavy to carry around and I usually only used one when I was playing out. Of course double pedal my point being 24’ kick is my favorite size!

He kinda looks like Chad when he's playing. The arm motions and such 👍👍👌👌I don't understand why Chris had to dismantle the hardware and find a metal plater himself. Neil Peart had custom hardware plating for his kits. I doubt Neil's drum tech had to find a custom plater independent of DW for those kits. If anybody from DW sees this, feel free to comment. I'd be interested to know more about it.

That odd drum is based on Staccato which were fibreglass and made in the UK. They were based on the US made North drums which Billy Cobham used in the 70s. Think the Doobie Brothers had them as well.
