One of the fun things I've done with VB audio cable is use it to capture NOAA APT signals off of my SDR. I haved used it to pipe signals into WXtoIMG to see the image!

Oh cool, I've never thought of sending it through like that. I always uploaded the mp3 file.

@@ModernHam. Yeah, there are tons of ways to capture the signals. Record a .wav via SDRSharp, pipe it from SDRSharp to WXtoIMG (Or NOAA apt which works better in some cases). They all have the same end result though, and quite a cool one at that!

Great video! As a side note, the audio cable input can be listened to by going into the Recording section of the Sound Control Panel, selecting the VB cable, and then select "Listen to this device". 73 DE WA5RR

Thanks for this tip. I didn't know you could do this.

It is great how we can tap into receivers in many other parts of the world in order to monitor and run digital decoding experiments. I have had a lot of success doing this over the last few years. HFDL has been a particular interest, and fun to decode, although listening to SSB just through the browser is great if you don't have a good HF antenna setup!

Great video, this is a really good way to get used to HF. I followed your instructions to the letter and I can't get decode anyting, perhaps nobody is talking? I do have an audio signal, and I used the same WebSDR.

Does the waterfall show the data in intervals like mine? And did you setup the input on the software to the virtual microphone port? If you set your default output to your speakers, you should hear something that sounds like this coming from the websdr. kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3rRgIZ-m7lroKM

@@ModernHam I see packet looking signals and I am hearing signals that sound exactly like the video. Not sure what you mean by data in intervals. The signal strength looks about the same. I did make sure to set the input in WSJT-X to the VB cable out. The mic has output, I have been only able to decode one line of text so far.

@@ModernHam, Well it seems that nobody was talking lol. I didn't get a big burst like you did but I've got the same station 4 times now. Guess 20m FT8 just isn't that busy today lol, Thanks anyway. 73, W8IJC (Soon to be KE8OHW again) Edit: Yup the band was just quiet, I am getting tons of CQs and DEs now. Thanks!
