Random comment, but if your family does get strep often consider having everyone tested to see if one of you is a carrier. The carrier would likely not show symptoms, but could contribute to the family catching it. It's rare, but does happen.
@modernhomesteadalaska Жыл бұрын
No we have one child that is a carrier, but the rest don’t get it but once or twice in life so far. Sorry he also carries staphylococcus, but likely from wrestling. Oh sports and school love to share bugs.

ALL Walmart stores have an item limit, I believe it is 175 items. Have for years to limit resellers in my opinion. Every gas station around there has a transaction limit on gas and has for YEARS. This is not rationing, it's nothing new. What's new is the ridiculous price per gallon of gasoline, which means that more people actually hit that limit.

That would be so sad. As a mom who had 4 babies in 5 years we have had lots of broken things. Nothing is more important then the love and memory. Jars and sprinkles can be replaced. The child’s heart can not.

@@modernhomesteadalaska we bought our land in north Texas in 2018 and experienced job loss after Covid and a miscarriage. We also had to bring on a family member for a few months in the midst of it. It took a while for me to come for air but I’m finally pursuing those things that I have desired for so long and sustainability and serving other is part of that. I definitely got caught up thinking that I couldn’t put store bought food away and that in order to be sustainable it all had to come from my garden.. How silly of me. This reminded me that I being prepared and diligent can look different and still have the same result. I do try to follow humane practices and sustainable practices as much as I can but sometimes sustainability means keeping yourself on the better side of mental health too. 🤍

Hi Jessica! I am a new subscriber to your channel and just watched this video twice!! I am very happy with your pantry and your way of thinking!! I too consider myself to be A Proverbs Woman. I received a plaque for my 57th birthday this summer of Proverbs 31;25 "She is clothed with strength and dignity and laughs without fear of the future." This is how my daughters view me and how I live my life. I have bought shelves, buckets and containers for the basement to build out our storage space. I live in a city where things have become "short" again, but I have no fear. We will live with dignity and I will continue to be that merchant ship bringing in the goods for the lean times. Please continue to live your best life and make the lives of your family and those who you love better just by being prepared. Stay strong and be blessed!! 🤩💖

I have been using canning jars for years, too! In some of the jars, I add a bay leaf, or two…it does keep the bugs out. Ie: flour, rice, etc. do you label any of the jars? I notice that perhaps you don’t, again, ie: flour, baking soda, any white goods. I only ask, in case the kids are cooking/baking, will they know the difference between the white goods? Your little jars, that hold the toppings…..great deal, and, so pretty! Thanks for sharing….I am not doing as much canning as I used to, so have gobs of jars empty. I have lots more things I can put in them, to really freshen up my pantry. Thanks again! Hugs, Bev in Maine
