@@rabburns1382 It is a fact that the English and the Scots both had a ton of geniuses who worked off each other's inventions and either improved upon them or came up with some other wonder. That's not to exclude the Welsh and Irish either who have also had their great men and women. It shows what a great entity the United Kingdom is and what it has achieved together. Those that are trying to break it apart don't know what they are doing, or if they do are just plainly malicious. The British Empire was also a collaboration of the four UK countries. The Scots had a great input to the running and creation of the Empire although the Scottish National Socialists are pretending they didn't.

I'm a Scot and I agree with much of what Starkey says, and I also think that the movement to "cancel" him is despicable and cowardly. @J. Lewis you're just following the context from the woke folk who cancelled him. The word "damn" was used as an expression of anger towards the activist idiots who are very irritatingly attempting to rewrite history. The fact he used the words so clumbsily on the day were stupid and emotionally charged, but were never intended to be derogatory to black people. He (Mr Starkey) is the first to admit that his words were very poorly chosen in that moment, and I fully agree. @@sanddancer1951 Yes, I felt that back then listening to him, but now we can see his reason for antipathy to cant in the proper context. I remember he did give Wedgie Benn a hard time once on Moral Maze, which was enjoyable. I'd rather a man (or woman) spoke their real mind, rather than resort to the weasley cant and equivocation of political correctness, which has ridden across the face of mainstream politics and completely poxed it over - like a plague rat across Europe in the 14thC. Political correctness has been probably the most toxically corrosive con of our times, clapped up by an elite middle class who use it to consolidate their hold on institutional and intellectual power. It has made lies and hypocrisy into an emolument scheme for the socially ambitious and the metropolitan dinner-party castes.
