Conparing CDL to private pilot. Proving you can operate in a safe manner is the goal. The real learning comes from doing not being tested. Getting any license is a license to learn, not provi g youve mastered your craft.

So at prime they had to repaint the yellow lines on the pad to make it look like that? I do like the test. It test you on actual situations you might see out there. Especially the 2nd one when turning around curves

It looks a little too easy. When these new drivers get out here in the real world there will be alot of challenges that they didn't prepare for. There should be more to the backing test then this. It looks like the standards are dropping.

The point system is lower in order to pass. A good CDL school will teach alley docking and more. My you tube channel goes deeper in this. Trucker Steve CDL instructor.

A good CDL company, like Prime, will take you out for 50,000 miles and make you learn on the job. A CDL school simply teaches you the basics and teaches you how to pass the test then lets you go. Training such as what Prime has are what drivers need. Simple things such as how to operate in a fuel island or at a shipper and receiver are what need to be taught as well. Most CDL schools don’t do this.

is this going to be done by third party people doing the test or dmv personnel? i took my cdl test about 2-3 months ago. another friend of mine had a guy who couldnt straight line back and they passed him via a third party company tester. i see guys who ask me prior to me getting my cdl how to uncouple their fifth wheel. i see some good in this, knowing where the back of your trailer is at is pretty good thing to know. having to use both side mirrors is also a good thing to know. but it really is confusing on what stage your at on the tests.

I wanted to learn how to parelel park before alley docking parelel is hard and most needed but at school I do it with no problems easy now or hard I think they did a good job with the sheet pre inspection and skills more organized and makes more sense 👍
