Been saying this for a few years, but UNC is a continual underachiever. For a program with five national championships, with that Nike money, with those academics, with that campus, with that overall sports program, with that brand new stadium...WHAT is going on with Breschi's team? I know people like the guy, he seems like a good dude. But, he gets a top 5 recruiting class every year and yet the team is unranked! They are now 0-4 since losing to High Point. They'll likely lose to ND and Duke the next two weeks. 0-6 to finish the season, you have to imagine the AD and the alums are going to seriously reevaluate the leadership. And why was Pietramala brought in when Syracuse seemed happy to run him out of town? The guy is a legend, but I think his D-schemes haven't evolved. Or, he's just worn out and not motivating. I don't know. The offense is a mess. It's Duffy shooting 85% of the time with a few from Pietro Jr. Why don't they run a long pole on the wing on faceoffs? Not sure I've ever seen that. Losing four in a row, something isn't working, fellas. And, you could argue if Chris Grey didn't fall into their laps and they go on a playoff tear, Breschi doesn't have an NC. They've been lackluster for years. And this isn't the first loss to High Point. John Haus didn't work out and Breschi has missed the playoffs FIVE times in the last six seasons. It's about to be 6/7. I can't imagine a program like MD, UVA, ND, Duke or Syracuse keeping a coach around with that sort of mediocrity. At that school, with that campus, with that athletic dept $$$ a coach should be able to roll the ball out and stay in the top 10 every season. Also, three sons of coaches on the team. And a SIXTY-FOUR man roster. Is this a club team with a huge budget or a varsity team? Imagine the locker room dynamic these next two weeks..."Jeez, Coach is doing an awful job....er, hey, Dominic! Not your dad, I meant the other coach...Oh, hey! Alex! Didn't see you there...not YOUR dad! I meant our strength and conditioning coach." But maybe the S&C coach also has a son on the 64 guy roster? Final thought: if UNC finishes up 0-6, does Danowski lure Duffy down the road? I can't imagine the #1 recruit is going to be happy going 6-8 and coming back as a sophomore with a new coach and a rebuild.

"player's coach" just doesn't work well at the top echelon of D1, it's a game of inches. UNC needs a good system coach that can create repeatable success with all the resources they have at their disposal
