Arguably, despite the immense success of the Renaissance and Revival eras, I'd say the Silver Age is the most iconic and timeless era. It's the most recognizable, and is consistently remembered on as being in general good and being very quintessentially Disney.

In this video we wrote into it that Disney's versions of these tales become definitive and iconic. I'd agree that the Silver Era, especially this first half, really is the definition of perfect film making. All four of these films, along with Sleeping Beauty, are high art that is also highly entertaining for the whole family and the perfect way to tell these stories. -Josh

@@ModernMouse I was looking at it on Disney+ the other day with my 6 year old and I was amazed at how beautiful it still looked. They really put in work on that film. Sleeping Beauty is the closest to it, in my opinion. It's the next one from that era that really is an eye catcher with its aesthetics.

Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, Sleeping Beauty, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, The Sword in the Stone, and The Jungle Book are some of the best Disney films of all time. The Silver Age ranks up there with the Renaissance and the Revival Eras. Peter Pan is my favourite Silver Age era film, and one of my top 5 Disney films of all time! Lady and the Tramp is a beautiful classic as well!

I know that, in terms of animated canon, this is the Silver Age. But I would argue this is an extension of the Golden Age. This is when Disney truly found their identity and developed their formula. Quintessential Disney. I adore all of these films.

101 Dalmatians is the best from this era. It had the same amazing focus on aesthetics that Lady and the Tramp and Sleeping Beauty had but it’s also much more watchable. Those other 2 are beautiful but I’d be lying if I didn’t say they bored me to tears.

Wow. I think the silver age is the best age that Walt Disney had in his lifetime. He really got his act together after the hardship of the war. The Silver Age is full of beloved classics that people watch over and over again. It is also where the movies get better plots. My favorite movie made in the entire life time of Walt Disney is Cinderella. I am a big fan of princesses in fairy tales. Cinderella has a lovely story with a solid plot. It is interesting how Walt saw himself in Cinderella. I am not a huge fan of Alice in Wonderland. It is funny though. I do like Peter Pan. I find that the Alice and Peter movies go together in my mind. It is because the female leads in both movies are voiced by the same actress, Kathryn Beaumont. The Alice movie has Alice herself. The Peter movie has Wendy. I knew about this for a long time. However when I watch both movies back to back, I noticed that the voice of the characters are downright identical. Speaking of actors, I found something interesting in the live action footage of the Mad Hatter. That looks like Uncle Albert from Mary Poppins. I Googled it, and I found that the two characters do have the same actor. That is Ed Wyn. I noticed that Peter Pan is like Alice and Wonderland but it is so much better. Both are fantasy movies. So both are going to have stuff that doesn't exist in real life. Alice and Wonderland takes the fantasy aspect too far. It is so bizarre and so wacky that it lacks internal consistency. I am a huge fantasy fan, and I love wird stuff. Yet even me thinks this is too far. Peter Pan is so much better. It is fantasy done right. There is plenty of weird stuff. There are plenty of things to have fun with. However there is a lot more consistency. Neverland is grounded to some extent, and that is a good thing. At the beginning of the movie, Peter teaches the Darling children how flying works. That is a shining example of fantasy done right. My favorite characters are Peter and Wendy. I like Peter for being a cute and charming boy. He resembles an elf, and elves are awesome. I like Wendy for being an engaging explorer of the fantasy world. Wendy is like Alice in being curious and exploring. Yet Wendy goes beyond that and grows up along the way. She is like Alice but better. I find it wierd that Tinker Bell has become the most popular character of the movie, when Peter and Wendy are so much better. I didn't think Lady and the Tramp was that good. The plot is weak. It is just about dogs looking cute and not much else. This video did make out some interesting things. This movie is more character focused. I guess that can work. It is more focused on romance, and those kind of stories are more character focused than plot focused. It is nice that Disney tried to do an origional story. I think 101 Dalmations is so much better. Now I think I have a whole new appreciation for Cruella De Ville. She poses a huge threat that makes the story exciting. Without Cruella, the movie would be a dull story about a bunch of Dalmations looking cute and that is it. At most Roger and Anita would have a baby, and then the dogs would have to adjust. It is a good thing Cruella is there. I have nothing against a Disney movie about dogs. I like dogs a lot. They just have to do something interesting. The Fox and the Hound is another Disney movie about dogs, and that was awesome. I like the friendship of the two main characters, and there is plenty of conflict to keep things exciting.
