My mom legally came to the U.S. when she was 14 years old in the late 1960s early 1970s. She clawed and fought to her way to get through racism, hard work, and saved up enough money to buy a house. The stories she told me about the hard life she went through made me think of the ridiculous petty things I complained about my pampered life. Through her sacrifice (in addition to my work experience), I have a roof over my head and food on the table. Respect the older generations who worked their ass off so that we could have it easy.

Bobby and Bill's amazing voices combined with Phil Spector's Wall Of Sound resulted in this fantastic piece of music from the early 60s. So glad I was a teenager in that era.

Reactions like this are a big reason the reaction videos are catching on. To see the joy on somebody's face when they discover new music that they love is one of those things that show how music can bring all people together despite differences in age, gender, color and culture. Plus it helps that you're a genuinely likable guy. Put me down for a like and a sub. Also, from 1:20 to 1:40 may very well be the greatest 20 seconds of reaction on KZbin. I've already lost count of how many times I've rewatched this video just to see that double take.

It makes us 53 year olds feel good to see you young whipper-snappers hearing good music. Yes, the Righteous Brothers have several songs that are often soundtracks for movies. If you want to see a funny skit watch Jimmy Fallon and Tom Cruise lip sync this song. It's hysterical.

Indeed. I love that double take. He looks up from the phone and sees him, but it doesn't fully register as he is distracted by wondering what is on his phone. He looks down... and all of a sudden it clicks in his mind what he saw and he looks back up with widening eyes. Classic. Love it!

Tye, you may not know this, but their manager booked them into a black nightclub in Watts, Cal. before they got big. The patrons of the club started throwing things at them on stage when they saw they were white. The Righteous Bros. didn't know what to do...so they broke out in song, and all the patrons sat down with their mouths open! Wouldn't let them leave after that!

I keep telling my 18 yr old daughter that there is no way her generation will be listening to this junk that is being produced today 50 yrs from now. We were indeed lucky. We got to grow up with REAL music and singers who could actually sing. I’ll put the Righteous Brothers at the top, especially Bobby Hatfield. What a voice! I just love to listen to that man sing. @@subg8858 Yes, phil Spector was awesome at the time, too. That clip is from a TV show of the era, either Shindig or Hullabaloo. It's what we had back then. But whichever it is, it is totally lip-synced. They are not singing live, they never had bands on those shows. Whoever mentioned the dancers ?) or maybe singers on the back row, that was just for the show.
@paulanull87314 жыл бұрын
@@flomurdock Wasn't Hullabaloo or Shindig because when they sang on those shows you could bearly hear over the screaming audience. Could go deaf in those shows. lol. This was done really well with real voices, back up singers and musicians. All spot on. The Bros didn't have a reputation for not really singing but with Phil Spector involved anything was possible because he did it all.
