I was a scoundrel several years ago, and told a friend that I did this to someone, knowing full well that I couldn't afford a thousand dollars to GPS track anyone. The future has gotten scary.

please do a episode on safe drug use, in the context of the modern rogue. a rogue should be able to if required to maintain a identity to be able to get high and not risk their health. out of context, people are going to get high, no matter what you do, make it illegal. you could put a death sentience on it and people will still get high the best counter is being honest about the positive and negative effects and tell people if you are going to get high, do it safely.

I know people doing the Cannonball Run use trackers like this to verify their time. Bolian definitely used a GPS tracking service, but he didn't have a way to access it in the car. They just had to call a number and get an updated position. Also...proud UGA alum here who was glad the Tech grad's record finally got smashed. We should've known that some enterprising souls would take advantage of COVID and the empty roads to drastically drop the Cannonball Run time.

@Richwell Chan Sim Found the Brit. In the US, "series" means the entire show. Season is each set of episodes, often renewed twice a year. Ex: "The Avatar The Last Airbender series" includes every single episode of the show. Also, calling it seasons makes more sense because we have multiple weather seasons in a year, and that maps perfectly onto seasons of shows.

I would hope for Aang to win, but I can't see that happening. I do believe that Korra could beat Voltron. If Voltron's metal isn't too refined (like platinum), she shouldn't have too much trouble. If it is, she could go giant spirit form. That way she's closer to its size, and she could (in theory) fight in space (since she wouldn't be using her physical body).

Nice find. Gps chips have gotten small, yet still reliable. Cellular chips have starting coming out decently cheap and in small form factors too. Parting this out, $30 isn't too bad. $40 a month seems high, but it's cellular data and that isn't always easy or cheap to get/setup/ maintain strong connections. They probably have a simple server collecting the pings and updating the map coordinates, but that also costs money. Granted, they could be using a loophole in cellular networking and getting that side for relatively free too. With more access points being setup for 5g, future mesh networking could mean even better solutions in the future.

for a few $$ and zero a month you can plug into a car to find out where it has been. there are limitations, you must have access to the OBD2 port, have the correct program or app, and the vehicle has to be newer than a certain year, most ( maybe all, just leaving room for error ) newer cars in the US have a GPS log. what is being fought for is the right to modify the parts of your vehicle through the OBD2 port or other direct connections so you can use an app to turn on things that are optional, like GPS live tracking, for your own use.

Ang would win BUT…but not because he’d win a straight up fight. Ang would lose a straight up fight. Ang would win because by the time the team decided to form Voltron he would have had a chance to figure out some weird new kind of bending like EMP or something specifically tailored to beat them. Everyone knows a cardinal rule of Voltron is you don’t form Voltron until you’ve failed with every other possible option and by the time that happens Ang would have their number. Now I know you’re probably saying, “But it’s a fight of Ang against Voltron, not Ang against the team who may eventually turn into Voltron” and technically that’s correct but there is a major flaw in that reasoning. If the Voltron team did what any normal people would do and just confront all of their problems in their giant robot, I submit to you that it is no longer Voltron, it’s a different thing altogether. If it doesn’t follow the rules of Voltron, it is not Voltron, it’s a Gundam or something. The only way Voltron can win is if Voltron acts in a manner decidedly not like Voltron. This would be akin to Captain Planet just going around the world solving problems without poorly supervised kids trying to do everything on their own first. It’s a hard violation of the defining franchise canon which makes it an inadmissible scenario.

I know plenty of small business owners who keep these in company vehicles to make sure their employees aren't taking company vehicles to unscrupulous locations (strip clubs and such. It happens believe it or not, during the work day when they're on the clock and supposed to be at jobsites)

I know an individual who works as a private investigator they were talking about all the cool stuff they have and showed us one of their investigations in progress. So the client thought their spouse was cheating on them and they hired the private I. The PI showed us the dot that was the spouse and the dot of the person spouse was cheating with. Spouse supposedly didn't know suspect and vise versa, but they were seen with both vehicles at a location that neither lived at. And it looked almost exactly like this!

Best case scenario use for this is owning a car that you REALLY don't want to get stolen. Your classic American dream car. Your 250k + supercar. Those sorts of things. But, even at that, I feel like there are better options.

Please for the love of Iroh, just make an Extended Outtakes type episode that's just you guys eating cereal and taking about Avatar for half an hour. I really wanna know what benders you guys would be and what you'd do with it. For those wondering, I'd be either a waterbender or an earthbender.
@emosgowoof
@emosgowoof 3 жыл бұрын
I'd personally go with either air or fire, simply due to the versatility of being able to bend whenever I need it. Fire bending moreso for survival than anything, as I could be able to start a fire anywhere I need it, get heat whenever I need it, and if push comes to shove, I can always use fire as an active deterrent in a self defense situation. And if secondary bending comes with it, lightning bending seems to be the quickest lethal method, from pretty damned far range, if need be.
@lykonic1763
@lykonic1763 3 жыл бұрын
@@emosgowoof I can respect the choices, though I think you mean availability moreso than versatility. Water and earth are both incredibly versatile because they can bend their element in so many different forms. Water has liquid, solid, and even gas phases, and there are so many things you could potentially bend as an earthbender: rock, sand, metal, crystals and minerals, probably glass... Heck, you could probably bend mercury as an earthbender to replicate waterbending, and you have the benefit of mercury being way denser than water and also being toxic if it enters the bloodstream. Earth is as plentiful as air, and water is critical to life so there's easy access to it everywhere, and as Hama showed Katara, you can even take it from plants or the air. But water can't necessarily keep you warm at night or cook your food (unless you boil everything I guess), and you could probably get by on cutting needs by using blades of hyper-pressurized air. Honestly I think all the bending types are amazing in their own way and for their own uses, but here's a question that I personally haven't seen asked a lot: if you could bend TWO elements, or even THREE, which would you pick and why? What interesting combinations would you be able to create and what would you do with the ability to bend multiple, but not all, elements? Let's keep this discussion going! :D

Interesting coincidence. Here's a great example of a nefarious use of a tracker. A little over a month ago there was a shooting at a Buffalo Wild Wings in Shamokin Dam, PA (a hop, skip and a couple jumps from my front door). A woman and her date were killed by her ex husband in the parking lot. The ex used a GPS tracker to find them. From the local news article - "A GPS tracking device was found attached to the undercarriage of her car and an empty box for such a unit was discovered in his house, police say." Dude was definitely not Modern Rogue material. He was, however, the recipient of some hot, high density, high velocity material that was delivered to him by a bystander while trying to leave the scene.

For commercial-grade trackers like these you need a spectrum analyser centered on the cellular uplink bands (roughly 800 - 2600 MHz). Use a small antenna and look for the largest spike.

Not sure if been mentioned here, but the most likely reason the finder didnt find it is because the tracker uses the cellular network, where the scanner is looking for RF network, Which is why the radio packs are triggering it and it can't find the tracker

@pomtom44
@pomtom44 3 жыл бұрын
@@JA-yy6bd are you asking if there's a way to detect one of these trackers? If so then you would need a scanner which runs on the same frequency as the cell network. But be sensitive enough to filter out all the background cellular interference and pickup on only the tracker. No idea of something like that actually exosts

It's project time... Arduino + GPS module + cell phone module. Add a new line to your cell plan. Then, just a small amount of programming to send an SMS link to your phone that displays a point on Google earth when clicked. You send it txt messages to change its settings... Thanks :)
