So the key component after you got your grip established is to keep pressing up into the trigger guard? Is that’s the bread and butter of the grip?

can someone explain, or link to a video or article or anything that can explain this "wave" grip and how it's different from a standard pistol grip? I have tried, and I keep thinking there is something I am missing, some small finger thing or something that I am not doing correctly.

When you torque your support hand yes. The trick is to push UP which is difficult to learn if you have already adopted another way of doing things

Why is it called "the wave" though? Is it the semi-circular, up into the trigger guard and forward motion of the support hand during presentation when acquiring the grip? The lady didn't seem to make the motion, she just seemed to assume to grip

Hey Jedi, would your wave concept have to alter based on hand size? Would this concept be applicable to someone with smaller than average hands?
@ModernSamuraiProject2 жыл бұрын
It works because everyone can grip “up” and opposed to out. As long as the Meta Carpal Phalange area of the palms remain to together you can trap the bore axis.

Scott, thank you for your generous content. For the upward pressure on the trigger guard, and the pressure up and back to the 1 o’clock; are those pressures generated solely by the support hand grip torque? Does the left arm contribute to the upward or up/back motion?

@mccroryshealthandfitness72422 жыл бұрын
why would you want upward pressure on the trigger guard if the gun is going to recoil upward? wouldn't that aid the recoil motion?

Hey Jedi,. Saw your grip initially on Jim's Goon Life when he took your class. As I understand it, the firing hand is mostly relaxed, however it felt like my firing hand wrist was giving way first when the shot broke. Obviously, a video is no substitute for hands on instruction, but is there anything I should be doing with my firing hand to achieve some sort of lockout? Hopefully I will be able to fly out and take a class some day.
@ModernSamuraiProject2 жыл бұрын
No. The firing hand only pulls the trigger. The support hand is wants torques intro the gun.
