‘Modi Staggeringly Incompetent In Most Things not Just Economy, Disastrous for India If he Wins ‘24’

One of India’s well-known essayists as well as an economist and political affairs commentator, whose weekly blogs are widely viewed, has said “Narendra Modi is staggeringly incompetent not just in economics but most things”. Dr. Parakala Prabhakar was speaking in an interview on his forthcoming collection of essays called ‘The Crooked Timber of New India: Essays on a Republic in Crisis’, which will be formally launched in Bangalore on Sunday the 14th. This comment was made when Dr. Parakala was questioned about the following sentence from his book: “The nation’s economic woes stem from the Modi regime’s staggering incompetence. It has been unable to put together a well-thought out, cohesive economic philosophy.” In a series of questions about who he had in mind when he wrote “the Modi regime’s staggering incompetence”, Dr. Parakala said “Narendra Modi is staggeringly incompetent not just in economics but most things”. Asked specifically about the two Finance Ministers who have served under Narendra Modi, Arun Jaitley and Nirmala Sitharaman, Dr. Parakala said that he did not want to comment on individuals.

As for freedom of expression, the husband of the current FM, Nirmala S is able to publish a book that calls the PM as staggeringly incompetent and being able to publish it and have multiple interviews about the book shows the extent to which their is freedom of speech/expression in this country. Does he realize how much of an embarrassment this would be for his wife, the FM? I am surprised they have managed to stay as a couple instead of divorcing each other. Can such a thing be even remotely possible in Congress? Mr Prabhakar also should understand he is getting the amount of attention is getting not because of his knowledge or achievements but because his wife is the FM. Every time we need to get something done, the people behind the counters tell us that "server is down" or "internet is down". Why isn't BJP government hiring more people to prevent these long queues? Jobs with high paying salaries will result in prosperity for the people. Why isn't BJP government paying the pensions of elderly people? Why are people being forced to pay fees to use ATM cards? Why are people being prevented from using their own money from their own bank accounts? Everything the BJP government has inconvenienced people in more ways than one. Why are people being forced to pay tolls for roads that are supposed to be the state's infrastructure that is funded by tax payers? Why is there so much trash all over the streets? Why can't BJP government hire people with high salaries to do the work that needs to be done? All this supreme court nonsense is a distraction from the extreme corruption that Modi government has created. You just seem to be jealous that Karnataka people got some money. You also seem to be okay with Modi and his cronies looting the government of all its funds in the form of subsidies to private corporations. Instead of solving real issues and preventing new problems, Modi government has started a new bullshit trend of letting courts decide what to do. If SC should decide everything what are the politicians doing? Why are politicians getting payed? Don't they call themselves "leaders". They need to do their jobs.

My respect for Dr Parakala Prabhakar has gone up many folds today; I used to watch his weekly program on his own KZbin channel every Wednesday when he suddenly decided to go off air; I really missed him until I came across this interview. I didn't have a great liking for Modi even before 2002 but the Gujarat riots and how he handled them took me light years away from him. He is the gift of LK Advani to us, who must be tossing on his bed but has no courage to speak out, however, it is we Indian citizens who have given him the legitimacy!
