Love the Allison tractors. If I'm not mistaken, they run about 5000 RPM, which is pretty low for the rest of this class. That's why they sort of Rumble down the track instead of scream

Wait I'm confused. What happened to Whispering Giant the 2nd pull? Was going to surpass Green Monster then looked like got shut down early.

That was the pulloff. It might have been a floating finish, so that whoever pulled the farthest to whatever point is the winner. After looking at it, I think he shut himself down for fear of hitting the barrier. That put him in second place. A third possibility is that they both made full pulls, and they agreed to split the money one way or another, and also agreed on placement. The turbine tractors generate a lot more tire speed, and sometimes have to shut down sooner than the reciprocating engine tractors (such as the Green Monster).
