Love it! Great video. Tools should be fun art, not just clunky functional.

Good job, again! What is the brand of the 1" hand-held sander that you used in the "Rusty Axe Restoration...beyond restored" video?

The so called "Protection" rune, is Vegvisr. And it´s not a protection rune, its a symbole. for guidance. Its name roughtly translated means Road shower/path shower. It´s menth to help you find the right path to your destination, what ever that is suposed to be. Glory, ritches, fame, home, valhalla ect

Excellent! But do you think that the blade got hot when cutting? A really clear how to video. Thanks. 👍

On this cheap splitting axe only the blade was tempered could tell from the sparks bro! If you notice I don’t touch the edge but the axe is thin near the blade and quick to cut most of the heavy cutting is at the thick end so just keep cooling it if you’re worried but you can always temper the edge when you finished if the file is not skipping but remember splitting axes don’t have a very hard edge anyway for a proper cutting axe I’d by a carpenters axe an mod that

@@CoshBushcraft Thanks. I wouldn't be doing this soon (too much on my to do list 😁), but good to know. I've started carving, so a you need a thin light head which you can choke up on. Cheers mate. 👍

lol my boss used to lose his shit when he caught me using flap discs to remove that much material.
@shaundevan15252 жыл бұрын
what should I use to remove that much material?
@johnlieske89082 жыл бұрын
@@shaundevan1525 A regular grinding disc works great . You can use it sideways to remove the metal . Also a bench grinder works great of the wheels will fit into the radius on the axe .

I turned an Ebay bought 4.5lb Elwell into a piece of shit just by sanding the rust off it lol. Doing that exposed the fracture running down the eye. If I'm lucky I might get a small Norse style hatchet out of it. Do you think these cheap blades need re tempering? I've heard that some are real soft, great for reshaping though.
