Great upgrade I upgraded my triban with 11-40 8speed shimano cassette

Hi, I have been wanting to do a 9-speed mod and your video has given me the confidence to go ahead! So thank you for doing this video! :) Just 2 small questions though. Did the 9-speed cassette fit in the existing 7-speed cassette space without causing tension on the frame? Also, is the gear shifting smooth? Thanks in advance!

Hey, The 9 speed cassette easily fits, when you remove the stock 7 speed cassette, you will find an additional spacer in the end of the sprocket which I believe has been kept for such an upgrade. No tension in the frame as there is sufficient space in the cassette. Shifting was really smooth with a Shimano 9 speed, 11-36 cassette, however, I recently got a Pacific 9 speed 11-40 cassette and I have just not been able to adjust the shifting. Maybe I finally need to go to a professional to sort out the shifting.
