How to modify stock exhaust to gain HP!!!

I just cut the whole pipe and cone thing off and hose clamped a screen on there to act like a spark arrestor and it makes it sound pretty snorty for a 90.

Matt. I restored and modified a couple TTR 90’s. I’m a clean freak with my Bikes but the Cover Plates to the exhaust, I took off and polished them all to a Chrome finish. Looks wicked and easy to do.

I just took the entire thing out and then the bigger piece of the pipe were the baffle when it broke off so now it's just a straight pipe and its is fast

I would have done it heaps different, in stead of having to trill the holes I would of cut that small pipe completely out but welded the cone in the same spot.

If I make this exhaust modification, do I have to make any other type of adjustments to the carb ?

some would say yes, some would say no.. I think you will have some lag if you open the exhaust all the way up.. (so you would have to adjust carb)

I'm not sure on this.. the process should be very very close as most carbs are the same internally, but the jet sizes and disassembly may be different. Thanks for watching!

Jacobluke Baker it probably won’t harm the bike but it will make it way weaker

there is a little screw by the carb play with that to adjust the idle it’s a little too high

dylan_mx_bmx it all depends on how much stuff you pack back into it. If you just drilled the holes it would be fairly loud

+KK Motocross - that bolt is very stubborn!! my only suggestion is to use some PBlaster and let it sit.. You could also heat it up..

Taking the baffles out of a bikes exhaust specially a little 90 doesn't make it faster people think it's faster cuz it's louder if anything it's makes it a bit slower because your looking back pressure I spent 3 years learning mechanics and on such a small engine u need all the back pressure you can get to help propel the bike

possibly.. It will be fairly loud. you may have to play with the carb as well

Kason Wiese I did years ago with mine, extremely loud and I miss the way it sounds. My TTR125 didn’t sound as good

Or dont be a cheap bum amd buy the fmf full eaxust for your 90.. it makes a hell of a difference
