at the the age of 19 I got the honer of firing a narrow gauge locomotive over night and dosed off .Woke up and couldn't see any water in the glass ! Using the injectors the third try was the charm I filled it to the very top. That was vary exciting to say the least

I placed two of these valves on the front end of a Little Engines American. The one on the left side is to empty the tender at the end of the day. The other as a injector water valve that I am adding to the engine. For those on the Colony side of the pond, a 3-48 bolt and nut are perfect for the handle attachment.

Keith, tap sets are another instance of differences in US vs. UK usage. The US terminology is starting, plug, and bottoming. BTW, belt & braces = belt & suspenders. That attitude about things associated with one's name is MIGHTY FINE.

Be careful to check that the aerosol can cap doesn't have a small air hole in it if you are going to use it to hold a small quantity of paint... My bench is witness to me forgetting to check...

With all that brush work, why not mask and spray? I suppose it takes the same amount of work using either method though.

Have you ever used a spiral point gun tap, that pushes the chip ahead of it?....they are great on thru holes

Does all Etch primer stand up to high heat and all firebox, smokebox areas?

Yes it seems to be OK provided that you bake it on slowly first with not too much heat and don't touch the painted surfaces when they are hot ......

Am I wrong or is the correct term for a parallel threaded bolt shaft topped by a screw head is "engineer's screw"?

I found most "High Temperature" paint isn't so Hi Temp... It doesn't hold up well on my steel BBQ pit.

Any time I need high temperature paint, I get the stuff designed for automotive/motorbike exhaust headers.

It is a disclaimer and I am saying that the locomotive is not a Kingscale or Silvercrest product . . . . . to avoid any confusion as it is similar in design to a Kingscale or Silvercrest model steam locomotive . . .
